The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
 

As an Area Portfolio Leader on the Consumer Health & Safety Business, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Driving profitable results aligned to business priorities and strategies for the Nexcare™, Ace™, Futuro™, Tensor™, Peltor™, and 3M brands in the Health and Safety categories in the US and Canada.  
  • Responsible for overall execution of the operating plan for the for the brands delivering both Sales and GM attainment in USAC.   This includes leadership of optimization programs, area marketing plans, area pricing strategy, mix management plans, S&OP demand reviews, QPAMS, and Area MRE & QOR guidance.
  • Meeting customer and consumer needs through flawless portfolio and program and implementation.  Create and lead USAC strategic growth plan aligned to the global marketing strategies and priorities.  Assists in the development of strategic and operating plans.
  • Responsible for the forecasting and planning process, such as estimates of product acceptance, clarification and interpretation of area market/industry size and future potential.  Critical part of the S&OP process, demand plan alignment, and service prioritization process.
  • Leads and effectively manages cross functional relationships with marketing, supply chain, LVS, lab, brand comm, finance, and key account leaders to deliver on critical business needs at hand.  Utilizes resources across work areas, departments, and businesses to create solutions for complex and multi-faceted problems, which requires ingenuity, creativity, innovation, and strong analytical skills.
  • Leads USAC Health and Safety organization of Category Development, Marketing Coordinator, and Portfolio Marketing.  Provides direct supervision which includes objective setting, performance management, development, motivating, training and coaching as well as leading for change. Shares vision and demonstrates company values.
  • Participates as a member of the Health and Safety Global Steering Team. 

Your Skills and Expertise 
 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Six (6) years of of marketing and/or national account sales experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Consumer Package Goods or retail experience
  • Supervision of direct reports in a team setting
  • Strategic portfolio or account planning and implementation leadership
  • Analytical aptitude with strong ability to turn data insights into action, with effective storytelling
  • Understanding of price management and financial acumen (Net Sales, MDF/Rebate, GM, COGS)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of 3M’s global strategy, business areas, structure and organization, as well as of the external market (competitors, trends, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Paint, Prep & Repair markets, competition and customers
  • Familiar with PowerBi tools and reporting
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and thrive under pressure
  • Creative problem solving in complex situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating and leading a team.
  • MBA

Work location:

  • Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood, MN at least 3 days per week)
  • Maplewood, MN.

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic/international
