The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Technical Leader for Data Center in the Electronics Vertical Business, you will have the opportunity to lead technical teams to develop and deliver product and application solutions through customer intimacy and technical collaboration. As a Technical Leader, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Leading and supporting detailed technical discussions with data center customers to define opportunities to to ensure smooth operation and efficient performance of data center infrastructure.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.
Manage a global team of application engineers, who are the technical liaison between customers and internal product development teams.
Understanding the technology trends to support customer road maps and providing guidance to Product Development, Core R&D and marketing to develop a technology strategy and product road map for 3M interconnect products and other products needed in data center infrastructure.
Influencing and guiding Product development and R&D to accelerate product development and generate data that demonstrates the value to customers and the ability to position the products
Establishing strong relationships with customers and throughout the data center industry; developing a broad and deep understanding of customer and infrastructure needs for all materials needs in data centers to help successfully launch new products.
Driving new product evaluations at data center customers to win business through data-driven interactions and developing customer-specific applications and data packages demonstrating 3M product performance.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Physics (completed and verified prior to start)
Three (3) years of hands-on experience in Data Center infrastructure, either operations or networking in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field from an accredited institution
Five (5) years of management experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Strong technical knowledge of Data Center infrastructure, network Infrastructure and connectivity.
Strong understanding of the Data Center industry mindset, pace and customer culture.
Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing engineering teams.
Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.

Travel: May include up to 15%

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $207,348 - $253,425, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
