Job Description

The Senior Manager – Finance and HR Compensation serves as a strategic business advisor, bridging Finance Shared Services and HR functions to deliver actionable financial insights and innovative solutions. This role will influence business priorities, support HR initiatives, and partner with key stakeholders to drive growth, operational efficiency, and strategic success.

The position requires a dynamic leader with strong business acumen to consult on compensation programs, execute financial planning, and provide actionable cross-functional collaboration. This role involves direct supervision of a team and collaboration with senior leadership across Finance and HR.

This role will be hybrid, ~1 time per week in the Chicagoland offices.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation Design and Analysis:

  • Leverage experience and business acumen to collaborate with the Executive Compensation VP to design, model, and assess compensation programs, including analysis for acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to support strategic compensation decisions and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Strategic Financial Support:

  • Provide thought leadership to support HR in achieving financial and operational goals, including planning/forecasting processes, cost-benefit analysis (CBA), vendor management, and delivering actionable reporting and analysis.
  • Partner with accounting and other finance departments to ensure accurate and timely external reporting and financial disclosures.

Business Unit Leadership:

  • Lead team members to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, fostering a collaborative environment and resolving conflicts.
  • Partner with senior leaders to identify and execute financial strategies, talent management initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Leverage internal and external networks to drive success in achieving organizational goals.

Education

  • 4 year Bachelors Degree; Masters degree preferred

Experience

  • 10 or more years of experience in finance, HR, or related fields

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This role includes direct supervisory responsibilities, fostering team development, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputs

Education & Experience (in lieu)

  • In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven business acumen and decision making to influence compensation structures, including acquisition and divestiture scenarios.
  • Executive consultation and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior management.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills to assess business scenarios and drive decision-making.
  • Experience in achieving favorable outcomes through goal setting, measurement including partnering effectively with 3rd parties.
  • Leadership skills to guide teams effectively and navigate cross-functional relationships.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $121,600.00 - 206,650.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
