The Advanced Professional, Sales Operations is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of GTM quotas, targets and compensation. This role will work closely with sales leadership, finance, and other cross-functional groups to ensure accurate and equitable quota allocation along with accurate administration of comp plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for data-driven decision making.


Primary Responsibilities
 

  • Quota Management:

    • Analyze historical sales performance data to identify trends and patterns.

    • Develop and implement quota allocation models that align with overall business objectives.

    • Generate pipeline targets to support business revenue goals.

    • Monitor and track sales performance against quotas.

    • Identify opportunities for quota adjustments based on changing market conditions or performance trends.

    • Develop and maintain accurate sales reports and dashboards.

  • Compensation Plan Design and Management:

    • Performs day to day administration of sales incentive compensation plans, including plan/quota assignments and audits of data accuracy.

    • Maintains detailed documentation of commission structures, policies, and processes, and update as needed to reflect any changes in plans or requirements.

    • Supports the annual sales compensation planning cycle including modeling and development of annual sales quotas

    • Analyzes sales data and incentive payouts to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement in commission plans and processes.

    • Develops, supports and delivers periodic sales incentive reports and dashboards for sales leadership.

    • Works closely with the GTM team to address compensation plan related inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).

  • Experience with quota setting, and compensation plan design.

  • Ability to create clear and concise visualizations to communicate data insights to the field (e.g., Tableau dashboards, reports).

  • Excellent communication, presentation skills and ability to coordinate and partner with several cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Success Measures
 

  • Accuracy and timeliness of quota allocations and adjustments.

  • Alignment of quota targets with overall business objectives.

  • Positive feedback from sales teams on the fairness and achievability of quotas.

  • Improved sales performance as a result of effective quota management.

  • Accurate and timely payment of sales commissions and bonuses.

  • Effective administration of sales compensation plans.

  • Develops and implements improvements to sales compensation plans and quota setting processes.

  • Acts as a resource for the team on Sales Compensation & Enablement best practices.

  • Data-driven insights that inform strategic decision-making

Required Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • 4-6 years’ experience, with a proven track record of quota setting.

  • Expertise in sales compensation plans and quota setting methodologies.

  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Alteryx Designer, Tableau, Excel)

Compensation:

Alteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location. 

The salary range for this role in the United States is $110,000- $140,000.

In addition, you may be eligible for additional compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including medical, retirement, financial, wellness, time off, employee discounts, and others.
