About the Data Plane Platform Team
The Data Plane Platform team is at the heart of Alteryxs next-generation architecture. We are building the foundation of our innovative split-plane platform, a cutting-edge architecture designed to meet our enterprise customers networking and security needs. This platform allows for scalability, data security, and private network connectivity, and its integral to how we deliver value to the most demanding use cases in the market.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing platform engineering team to drive Alteryx’s split-plane architecture development. This is a crucial leadership role within our growing Platform organization, with the opportunity to work on some of the most impactful and challenging technical projects at Alteryx.
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the vision, strategy, and execution of complex platform features. You will lead a team of talented engineers, guiding them through technical challenges, fostering innovation, and ensuring high-quality software delivery. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and architecture teams to create a platform that powers data-driven solutions for our enterprise customers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a diverse, cross-functional engineering team of 6-8 engineers, ensuring a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
Drive the strategic vision and roadmap for the team, aligning with broader organizational goals and customer needs.
Partner with product managers, architects, and other engineering leaders to define and execute complex platform features.
Work closely with infrastructure and application teams to design and implement a scalable, secure, and performant split-plane framework.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on building high-quality software while balancing innovation and technical debt management.
Coach and develop engineers at all levels, helping them grow in their careers and deliver impactful, innovative solutions.
What You Bring
Leadership Experience: 2+ years of leading software engineering teams, with a track record of successfully delivering complex, high-quality software solutions.
Technical Expertise: Strong experience developing and deploying microservice architectures, including tools like Kubernetes, Helm, Argo, and GitLab.
Cloud & Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and basic networking concepts such as VPNs, IP subnets, and routing.
Programming Languages: Proficiency with Golang, Java, and JavaScript (or similar).
Collaboration & Communication: Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation
Alteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
The salary range for this role in California, Colorado, Washington, Texas, and Rhode Island is $160,000 - $184,000.
In addition, you may be eligible for other compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including medical, retirement, financial, wellness, time off, employee discounts, and others.
