How will you make an impact in this role?
Function Description
The Quality Assurance and Regulatory Governance team is responsible for ensuring governance and oversight of regulatory reporting process. The team performs Quality Assurance reviews including process & controls testing, testing the conformity of reported data with reporting instructions and gathering, sampling, understanding, and testing the data to ensure data quality for various regulatory reporting purposes. The team partners closely with the Regulatory Report owners, Technology, Data Governance, and other stakeholders to perform the review and ensure robust governance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead Quality Assurance testing which includes:
- Process review to identify control gaps and improvement opportunities for regulatory reporting processes.
- Ensure compliance with the reporting guidelines issued by regulators to support regulatory reporting.
- Transaction testing i.e., substantive testing of transactions, share findings, and monitor closure.
- Lead data analysis of portfolios and reports in-scope. Identify data elements required for testing, decipher transformation logics, and define selection approach for data sampling.
- Understand the master and reference data used across operational and reporting processes.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance governed frameworks e.g., Regulatory Reporting Governance policy, Self-Identified Re-filing Assessment Framework, Regulatory Report Risk Assessment and Cross Report Reconciliation Framework as assigned and prepare key metrics.
- Lead, the identification, documentation, implementation of operational controls as per the PRSA guidelines and periodic testing to ensure QA controls are effective.
- Lead automation initiatives aimed at streamlining and strengthening the overall Quality Assurance and Governance process.
- Work closely and coordinate with various regulatory reporting, technology, data governance, service management, teams to ensure the quality assurance over the regulatory reporting processes.
- Independently handle Projects and drive solution across multiple stake holders, support AXP wide projects, initiatives, reviews, and audits e.g., Federal Reserve Exam, Internal Audit Group review and others.
- Display thought leadership, drive process, and support work/life balance initiatives.
Qualification and skills
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting, audit and familiarity with US GAAP and financial accounting experience is preferred.
- Experience of Quality Assurance domain is must.
- Experience in financial analytics, reporting, data analytics, data controls and understanding of data transformation logics.
- Exhibits organizational skills with the ability to meet/exceed critical deadlines and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Verbal and written, able to understand and enhance the governance around regulatory reports. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Quick learner.
- Knowledge of MS Office suite (MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint). Oracle, Essbase, VBA and Macro development.
- Knowledge of SQL queries and understanding of database management and SharePoint and Power Platform is plus.
- Experience in leading and developing individuals. self-starter, proactive, team player with a passion to consistently deliver high quality service and exceed customers’ expectations.
- Excellent relationship building, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- CA/ MBA, 6+ years of experience with demonstrable knowledge and demonstrable interest in financial technologies.
- Prior experience with U.S. regulatory/SEC reporting or public accounting a plus.
- Postgraduate in Accounting or Science with demonstrable knowledge and interest in financial services industry.
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
