A DAY IN THE LIFE:

As a Back-End Software Engineer, you’ll be at the core of building and maintaining scalable, high-performance services that power our financial technology platform. Your focus will be on designing and implementing robust back-end systems, optimizing performance, and ensuring the reliability of our distributed services. Working closely with a team of 5-10 engineers across software development and quality engineering, you will contribute to our microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and cloud-native infrastructure.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and enhance our platform’s capabilities, ensuring our systems are secure, scalable, and built for the future of financial technology.

Base Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 annually

WHAT WE’LL TRUST YOU TO DELIVER:

  • Develop and optimize scalable back-end services using Java, Spring Boot, and Micronaut
  • Design, implement, and maintain microservices in a Kubernetes-based environment
  • Work with event-driven architectures using Temporal and ActiveMQ for asynchronous workflows
  • Build and optimize RESTful APIs and integrations with front-end services and third-party providers
  • Enhance data processing and storage solutions using PostgreSQL and Redis
  • Ensure performance, security, and scalability by proactively identifying areas for improvement
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, ensuring best practices in CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Git
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers to elevate the team’s technical capabilities
  • Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to enhance our AWS cloud-based infrastructure
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and contribute to our technical roadmap

 

WHAT YOU LIKELY BRING TO THE TABLE: 8+ years of experience in back-end software development, ideally in a SaaS or FinTech environment

  • Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Micronaut for back-end services
  • Experience with event-driven architecture, using Temporal, ActiveMQ, or similar technologies
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture and best practices for distributed systems
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis for high-performance data storage and caching
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud infrastructure (AWS)
  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on scalability, performance, and security
  • Ability to work in agile development environments and collaborate cross-functionally
