AMPs Recycling Robots

AMP is hiring an Engineering Program Manager, R&D out of our Louisville, CO headquarters on a hybrid basis. 

As an EPM at AMP, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Guide multi-disciplinary project teams developing new technologies and executing multiple parallel projects of various scope.
  • Develop, manage, and communicate project schedules, budgets, goals, and deliverables to the project teams and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Exercise swift and sound judgment to make critical project changes as required, while assessing risks and controlling scope
  • Run and conduct: internal engineering meetings, interdepartmental program alignment meetings, and phase gate reviews
  • Accelerate the pace of product development by leveraging and implementing project management best practices
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to design AMP’s R&D strategy, with an emphasis on new technologies that further AMP’s fundamental capabilities, as well as AMP’s approach to carbon and energy efficient waste management.

Your background and experience will include:

Required:

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated success guiding cross-functional engineering programs in an Engineering Program/Project Management role in which you were responsible for the program budget, schedule, and scope
  • Experience synthesizing project inputs from wide range of engineering disciplines: mechanical, software, electrical, and robotics are preferred
  • Exemplary written communication and public speaking skills, which you exercise to lead team meetings and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the company
  • The ability to independently and diplomatically solve complex challenges with a positive attitude and sound judgment, escalating issues to leadership when necessary
  • Experience successfully planning scope, schedule, and budgets for multiple large-scale ($10M, 8FTE) and small- scale (<$1M, 2FTE) projects
  • Demonstrated experience executing projects within budget and schedule.
  • Proficiency with project management tools including Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheets
  • A degree in a relevant engineering field or related degree/work experience

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in authoring technical requirements documents and presentations to communicate engineering designs and procedures to a wide audience
  • Demonstrated experience in managing federal R&D grants from agencies including DOE, DOD, USDA, EPA, NSF, or NASA, including:
    • Preparing comprehensive grant proposals and budgets
    • Navigating complex federal grant compliance and reporting requirements
    • Tracking and documenting project milestones and technical achievements
    • Managing grant-specific financial reporting and invoicing
    • Coordinating with federal agency program managers and technical monitors
  • An eagerness to explore new technologies and program opportunities at the frontier of AMP’s capabilities, such as for adjacent verticals (E-Waste) or for new waste-to-energy models (e.g. SAF production).

Salary & Compensation Information: $111,240 - $135,000 per year

Equity Grant:  The candidate selected for this role will be recommended for a stock option grant commensurate with the position and the candidate’s qualifications.

  • Medical - The company covers up 85% to 100% of the premium for Cigna medical healthcare plans depending on the selection. Employees pay the difference in premium if they select a more expensive plan. Up to 75% for dependents.
