Amplify is seeking a Director of Sales Analytics and Reporting to transform our forecasting and sales analytics functions into a center of excellence. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales Finance Operations, the Director will oversee sales forecasting and help establish best practices for pipeline management, as well as Salesforce pipeline management. The Director will evaluate our current sales forecasting process, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with the VP to implement a new reporting structure. Success in this role involves accurately predicting sales performance during crucial times of the year to influence resource planning.

Essential Responsibilities: 

Forecasting

  • Own the sales forecasting process

  • Assess the current sales forecasting process and identify improvement opportunities 

  • Execute the improvement plan and ensure the maintenance of necessary continuous improvement

  • Work with other functions to ensure that the forecasting process meets their needs 

Management: 

  • Recruit, build, and maintain a Sales analyst team 

  • Coach and manage analysts to help execute the work 

  • Integrate analysts into work streams and business needs throughout the company

Data Projects: 

  • Conduct annual quota analysis

  • Develop a model to capture a point of view on quotas based on product mix and territory forecasts to guide the sales leaders in setting quotas

  • Conduct semi-annual headcount analysis to inform hiring plans, including determining when to hire sales representatives, where to place them, and when to hire additional support staff

  • Determine a set of metrics for analyzing Account Executive effectiveness

  • Continuously analyze sales territories, level of production, and ROI

  • Develop a set of metrics to inform sales managers and marketers about best practices of Samples and Pilots

  • Analyze and optimize Salesforce stages to project close probabilities more accurately

  • Generate additional data projects to help inform sales strategy

Optimization: optimize our business-as-usual work: 

  • Calculate ROI on sales tactics 

  • Conduct budget versus actual analysis and reporting for Sales leaders 

  • Additional Ad Hoc financial reporting requests as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a data analyst, business intelligence, or related role.

  • 2+ years of experience as a people manager with demonstrated success in hitting set goals.

  • 2+ years Experience in Salesforce. 

  • Ability to turn vague business problems into plans for data projects. 

  • Ability to take various data inputs and craft a coherent story and narrative. 

  • Excellent communication skills in writing and conversation, especially with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.

  • Ability to create appropriate visualizations for the data story being told. 

  • Experience building visualizations in Tableau, Looker, or other similar tools. 

  • Mastery of Excel and Google Sheets.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working in the education publishing or technology fields with knowledge of the education sales cycle. 

  • Direct experience in sales forecasting. 

  • Experience in sales operations. 

What we offer:

The gross annualized salary range for this role is $120,000-135,000.

This role is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
