Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Design Manager for our Federal Market Sector to join the Design Management Department within the North America. As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for the overall delivery of complex capex projects with primary focus within the Government & Civic market sector. This position has flexible working hours, and you will join a collaborative team that truly values its people. This is a remotely based position and can be performed across the United States. You will utilize your technical expertise and knowledge of state, federal programs, and funding streams to lead and oversee the execution of Places Design and Engineering projects. Your knowledge of project/program funding via federal programs related to the built environment, mitigation, sustainability, and climate adaptation is essential to this role. Role accountabilities:

  • Overseeing multidisciplinary design teams for capex projects within a design and engineering consultancy environment while providing technical leadership to project teams
  • Coordinating with internal and external architects, engineers, designers, consultants, and managers to align strategic objectives and progress
  • Acting as primary client point of contact for project execution, Leading client meetings, responding to enquiries, and collaborating across all stages of the project lifecycle
  • Spearheading strategic pursuits, creating winning delivery strategies, fee projections to achieve financial targets of the business, and creating the most advantageous delivery approach
  • Ability to effectively implement design delivery best practice including risk and change management, project set-up and planning using internal and external digital technologies
  • Ability to effectively deliver client presentations, prepare written reports and communicate technical concepts, specifically around federal requirements, funding, capabilities, and risk
  • Be engaged as a “seller-doer” for the marketing and delivery of program management services involving federal funding sources

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ or more years’ relevant experience in the federal market sector with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience leading large multi-discipline design engineered solutions and construction projects
  • BA in Architecture or Engineering related fields focused on the built environment
  • Preferred certifications sections. (PE, RA, PMP)
  • Strong financial background related to projects and client management
  • Experience working with projects that utilize Fundamental knowledge of Autodesk Platforms: Autodesk
  • Construction Cloud (ACC) or Building Information Modelling (BIM) engineered solutions
  • Obtain Certified Project Management (CPM) certification status within 30 days of hire. Company provided training with employment

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
