Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our growing Resilience Water team in Western NY. This position may report to our Buffalo or Rochester, NY office.
This role sits within our Resilience Global Business Area. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we’re feeling the effects of climate change, rapid urbanization, and loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent.
Role accountabilities:
In this role, youll collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and a dedicated team to provide exceptional client service, guiding them through programming, planning, and executing their projects. Your focus will be on managing water, wastewater, and other projects from pre-bid through construction, leveraging your expertise in construction management to deliver outstanding results. Youll engage closely with clients, engineers, contractors, and end-users, showcasing a deep understanding of the entire process. Additional responsibilities include:
- Providing onsite construction management, including quality control, schedule and cost management, document control, and project communication.
- Maintaining detailed daily reports, and as-built drawings, and producing progress reports and briefings for clients.
- Reviewing contractor payment applications, developing cost estimates, and assisting in change order negotiations.
- Overseeing project schedules, conducting progress meetings, and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Traveling as needed for site visits, client meetings, and construction oversight while promoting a culture of health and safety.
Key skills & experience:
The ideal candidate has experience managing water and wastewater construction projects and demonstrates strong skills in cost estimation, daily field reporting, and project scheduling, particularly with Oracle Primavera P6. They possess a solid understanding of various construction trades, including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing, and communicate effectively with contractors to ensure smooth project execution. Skilled in contract and document management software and Microsoft Office, they are also experienced in developing and managing punch lists and deficiency logs, ensuring contractor compliance with schedules, and upholding high project quality standards.

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- CCM Certification

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $97,000 - $146,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
