Role Description:

Arcadis is seeking experienced Electrical Engineers to join our Resilience Water team in the United States. This is a prospecting position, reflecting our commitment to building a talent pipeline to address future challenges in water resilience and sustainability.

Role Accountabilities:

As an Electrical Engineer, you will support the planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater and other industrial facilities, focusing on electrical power distribution, lighting, communications, security, fire detection, and monitoring and control systems. From project inception to successful startup, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the delivery of innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with process, mechanical, and instrumentation and control (I&C) engineers to develop design criteria, single-line diagrams, control schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Designing low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution systems to meet project specifications and requirements.
  • Performing system analyses using tools like ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or other power system analysis software.
  • Supporting project managers in project planning, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and cost estimation.
  • Managing project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful completion. 
  • Traveling as needed for client meetings, site visits, and other project-related activities.

Key Skills & Experience:

To be successful in this role, you should have a foundational understanding of industrial power design and distribution, including motor control, variable frequency drives (VFDs), lighting systems, equipment layout, and related activities. Strong organizational skills are essential, as you will need to independently manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills are critical for effectively conveying technical information and collaborating with diverse teams. Additionally, a team-oriented mindset and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary environments are key to success.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • 5 years of experience supporting water/wastewater projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • EIT Certification or PE license
  • Familiarity of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements

These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP,  401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program, and optional benefits including well-being benefits, adoption assistance, and tuition reimbursement.  We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $82,400 - $154,500.  Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
