We are seeking a Senior FP&A Manager with strong business partnering skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The candidate is willing to lay the groundwork and aspires to be a key contributor to the future success of the team and the company. You have the opportunity to define FP&A OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and help the business to achieve balanced budgets and resource allocations.
The candidate should possess a problem-solving mindset and be able to resolve issues on a timely basis by working independently and collaboratively. In addition, the future employee should not be afraid to challenge the status quo and constantly seek improvement and growth opportunities.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Analyze TechOps and Medical Sciences expenditures and performance metrics, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities/levers for cost savings or efficiency improvements
- Collaborate with TechOps and Medical Sciences leaders to develop and maintain annual budgets and rolling forecasting, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
- Work with ClinOps and other teams to update and improve clinical trial cost projection
- Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports that provide insights for performance, including driver-based variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses to support TechOps and Medical Sciences initiatives, projects, and strategic decisions to ensure the best use of resources and maximize returns on investment
- Identify and implement improvements in financial processes related to TechOps and Medical Sciences budgeting, reporting, and analysis
- Demonstrate a strong FP&A mindset by delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to support and inform operational and strategic decisions.
- Stay informed about industry trends, business acumen and external/internal benchmarks to provide context for financial performance

- Must have the ability to lead and meet deadlines for multiple priorities and projects and take ownership of issues to resolve them in a timely manner. A can-do attitude is an absolute must.
- Willingness to be hands-on: The individual must have a willingness to become involved in operations to understand the processes so that the person can be viewed as the financial partner by the business.
- Provide Forward Thinking: The individual must be able to identify the interdependencies across different parts of the organization and proactively address the potential impact of issues with relevant parties.
- Business Savvy and Financial Acumen: The candidate will possess exceptional financial analytical and problem-solving skills. These skills must be balanced by sound business judgment.
KEY COMPETENCIES FOR THIS CANDIDATE:
WHO YOU ARE
- A BS or BA is required, and a CPA is preferred. MBA is a plus
- 8+ years of relevant experience in Finance, having held positions of increasing scope and responsibility. Supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in project and operational reporting, strong analytical skills, and proven success in meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Must be familiar with SAP or Oracle systems and proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of BI is a plus
- Experience working in the biotechnology industry is preferred

The estimated base salary for the preferred primary location of the San Francisco Bay area ranges from $151,300 - $185,400. Salary ranges for other locations may vary. Base pay offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, experience, education, and location. Beyond these considerations, we are committed to pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current employees when making any final offers.
