Position Overview

The Corporate Development Integration Management Office (IMO) is responsible for maximizing impact from our acquisitions. We serve as strategic partners to the sponsoring business leaders, acquired team, and corporate functions by developing and executing against integration strategies that support the value drivers for each transaction. We partner with over 30 functional leaders across the company to drive financial and operational business outcomes.
Reporting into the IMO, the Director, M&A Integration will lead the successful integration of acquisitions into Autodesk, orchestrating across business teams and corporate functions to create value from our acquisitions and driving measurable synergy targets.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate strategic thought leadership and drive end to end integration strategy, planning, and execution for integration or divestiture projects, including large scale, highly complex transformations
Leverage superior communications and influencing skills to drive integration efforts and develop effective working relationships with peers, executives and target companies
Proactively contribute to identification and implementation of M&A integration best practices across our integration practice and teams
Participate in diligence of target companies in order to lead the evaluation of key issues, assessment of integration challenges and development of post-close plans
Serve as strategic partner to business leaders, cross functional leads, and acquired team
Surface strategic opportunities and roadblocks throughout integration
Drive clarity of strategy, timely decision making, robust and complete planning, and focused execution
Proactively identify and drive resolution of critical challenges by leveraging strong business acumen and integration expertise
Drive accountability and closely partner with an extended team of 30+ cross functional integration leads across the company to develop integration strategy and plans for each deal that yields business/deal outcomes aligned with the acquisition rationale
Effectively communicate project progress, issues, and goal achievement across senior leadership and project team audiences
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years leading M&A integrations in an IMO lead capacity, experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
Ability to manage high-stress situations calmly and effectively
Ability to effectively motivate, manage and facilitate virtual and matrixed teams
Influencing and Collaboration
Able to establish and build close working relationships
Collaborative, team-oriented planner and decision-maker
Ability to motivate and drive focus toward program goals, with both structure and flexibility
M&A Experience
Ample understanding of the acquisition life cycle, integration planning, and familiarity with integration methodologies
Communication
Excellent communication, team building and negotiating skills, with the ability to effectively manage and facilitate virtual teams as necessary
Ability to extract key messages from detail and translate into audience appropriate messages
Business Leadership
Strong, team-oriented leadership skills
Able to identify, frame and address issues and make recommendations for resolution
Self-starter, independent. Solid business acumen
Ability to influence without authority
Working knowledge of major corporate functions
Problem Solving
Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
Demonstrates ability to think strategically and tactically, pay strong attention to detail, and work with a high degree of ambiguity and translate into actions
Project and Program Management
Experience in planning, design, and implementation of complex, cross functional projects
Effective in influencing and making high quality decisions and taking decisive action
Ability to work well under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong meeting management skills

Is adept at distilling complex ideas and issues for executive audiences while also engaging in detailed analysis as appropriate
Has a strong sense of urgency and comfortable driving accountability and timely execution, while operating in a world of ambiguity
Is capable of getting in the middle of issues, managing high-pressure situations and bring them to resolution
Is able to demonstrate out-of-the-box thinking and implement best-in-class processes that improves the existing integration practice
Is known for having both strong interpersonal and leadership skills and for empowering those around you to do their absolute best
Is energetic with a get-it-done-right attitude, lots of patience and good sense of humor
