AVEVA is looking for a People Services Apprentice to join and work within the People Services team to provide a professional administrative service to the business and to the wider Human Resources team while working to an NVQ Level 3 CIPD qualification in HR.
The Apprentice will learn about a range of areas such as organisational structures, HR legislation and policy, HR team functions and processes, dealing with HR queries, developing solutions to HR problems, escalating complex issues, maintaining staff details on computer systems and handling sensitive situations professionally and confidentially.
The role
- Support the preparation of contractual documentation as requested for all employee lifecycle changes.
- Sending welcome emails to managers & employees advising of holiday entitlement, policies and procedures etc.
- Perform new starter inductions, providing onboarding details, ensuring all local compliance is met.
- Maintain personnel files on SharePoint in accordance with GDPR legislation.
- Maintain employee documentation in HRIS (Workday).
- Assist with responses to general HR queries including HR Helpdesk resolution.
- Supporting the HRS Specialists in their roles as and when required.
- Supporting with any ad-hoc HR projects.
- Supporting with employee background checks.
Required skills
- Confident using the full Microsoft Office package including Outlook.
- Good organisational skills, administration and communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively.
- Confident telephone manner.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.

Hybrid working
By default, employees are expected to be in their local AVEVA office three days a week, but some positions are fully office-based. Roles supporting particular customers or markets are sometimes remote.
