Profile Summary:

The Healthcare Data Implementation Specialist is responsible for reviewing, designing (mapping healthcare data files) and verification of healthcare data loads from files including: medical, eligibility, prescription, biometrics, financials, etc. to be developed into an analytics warehouse by data engineers.  The Healthcare Data Implementation Specialist is accountable for ensuring data quality within the files is accurate and will not require changes.  The Healthcare Data Implementation Specialist is the first line of quality control while analyzing, mapping, and verifying the data provided.  This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare claims, finance, data analysis and attention to detail. 

Profile Description:

    • Identifying, analyzing, mapping and documenting data elements
    • Provide data analysis, verification, and load mapping of customer financial and clinical healthcare data related to medical, RX, eligibility, biometric and other types of data files
    • Ability to perform data mapping and assess complex data sets including mapping of raw customer financial and clinical healthcare data into standardized format using an application user interface
    • Research data issues and provide written business requirements for resolution
    • Provide implementation support to the development team for new and existing customers and serve as the SME between development and client relations staff
    • Work with internal teams such as Delivery, Customer Management and Data Engineering to evaluate, prioritize and execute development initiatives for new and existing customer data loads
    • Analyze, explain and draw logical conclusions based on complex data from multiple content areas.
    • Design and manage complex processes efficiently
    • Responsive to any data indicating a customer opportunity or change in customer needs
    • Set an example of excellence as a Benefitfocus representative enhancing the company’s image and reputation through own credibility, preparation, and commitment

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a directly related field
  • 4-6  years of experience in healthcare with knowledge in enrollment/eligibility and healthcare claims
  • Experience in healthcare data analysis or data implementation


Required skills:

  • Identifies & works effectively with key stakeholders on complex cross-team or work group projects or problems
  • Ability to perform validation and testing to ensure accuracy of data
  • Knowledge and experience in Healthcare Payor industry and understanding of latest trends and innovation
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data formats, standards and can map them to CMS level reporting needs
  • Uses flawless discretion and judgment in discussing information about Benefitfocus with people outside the company
  • Demonstrates ability to change direction in response to changing work situations
  • Working with data through tools such as Excel, SQL, UI etc.
  • Must have the ability to clearly articulate ideas and concepts both in written form and verbally
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for details
  • Must have an expert end-user knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Word
  • Encourages and reinforces action-taking and decisiveness in others
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to carefully assess and accommodate detailed project requirements

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya may offer incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
