This is a key role in Business Unit Controllership team who will work with different business units on accounting matters, analyze financial results and prepare financial information to be included in Financial statements and footnotes for GAAP and STAT. The senior analyst also works with auditors on various testing procedures and assists with various strategic business projects and initiatives.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare and  compile disclosures included in SEC filings and Statutory filings for Voya Financial, Inc. and its insurance subsidiaries;

  • Work on various responsibilities associated with Voya’s business segments and interact with various business partners

  • Interact, communicate and maintain liaison with other functional departments to ensure the quality, accuracy and completeness of the financial reporting disclosures included in Forms 10-Q and Form 10-K, other US GAAP financial statements as well as Statutory financial statements;

  • Prepare analytical reports and utilize various analytical skills and procedures to assist with the understanding and validation of financial statements and disclosures;

  • Coordinate, conduct and document workpapers of financial reporting activities in accordance of company policies, procedures and SOX controls;

  • Ensure the timeliness and accurate delivery of financial information including analyzing and reporting of financial activities;

  • Interact with internal and external auditors as needed;

  • Recommend process improvements and participate/lead problem solving sessions and provides functional advice to less experience analysts;

  • Assist in various projects as assigned including the participation in the continuous improvement initiatives related to financial reporting including the implementation of new or expanding the usage of certain existing financial reporting tools and other improvement initiatives;

  • Contribute as key team member that meet ultimate objectives of the team, department and organization;

  • Participate and research SEC, GAAP and Statutory guidance including performing peer research for various disclosures as necessary; and

  • Assist in various projects as key team member that meet ultimate objectives of the team, department and organization.

 

Minimum Knowledge & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

  • CPA designation or on track

  • 4 years or more of experience, including public accounting, insurance accounting or SEC reporting environment

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

  • Good understanding of US GAAP and competency in preparing financial statement disclosures and performing financial analysis for GAAP and Statutory financial statements

  • Assist other analysts in establishing, modifying, documenting, and implementing reporting methods and control procedures

  • Share technical expertise with others, including peers; lead or assist in the implementation of process improvements; provide functional advice or training on complex matters to less experienced financial analysts

  • Assist other analysts, consultants and managers with advanced problem solving and complex analysis

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and still meet required deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with other departments      

  • A self-starter, self-motivated, self-disciplined and performance driven

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Advanced Microsoft office/Excel required; Oracle, Workiva and XBR experience preferred.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$75,230 - $94,040 USD
