This role is remote in the US with a close relationship with all of our other teams across the globe. We’re a remote first company with roots across the US. BetterCloud is backed, among others, by some of the best technology investors Vista Equity Partners, Warburg Pincus, Bain Capital, and Accel.
As a BetterCloud Staff Software Development Engineer in Test, you are responsible for Leading the forefront of our Automated Testing frameworks and strategy. We are looking for someone who is motivated by solving engineering challenges and designing process improvements, looking to lean in and charge the quality challenges of a growing organization.
About You:
- Have you built testing frameworks from the ground up and is passionate about diving head first into quality challenges
- Have 7+ years of experience building testing frameworks and contributing to quality measures across fast pace organizations
- Have a strong understanding of both front end and back end automation testing technology, tools, and frameworks (e.g. Postman, Rest Assured, Cypress, etc.)
- Have some demonstrated proficiency in Java, object oriented and functional programming (Javascript/TypeScrips)
- Have demonstrated knowledge of CI/CD and testing within a CI/CD environment
- Have experience working with and testing APIs
- Have experience working with version control systems (BitBucket, Git)
- Have experience contributing to a code base and conducting Peer Reviews
- Ability to travel to our Mexico City office (10% travel).
What You’ll Do
- You will be our Lead SDET at BetterCloud, and we’ll look your way for guidance along the way
- Work with peer SDETs to guide them and shape the testing & quality culture at BetterCloud
- Analyze testing requirements and assist with developing the test architecture, both current and future
- Perform thorough functional testing for new features and look for opportunities of automation and optimization
- Write API, UI, Regression, Acceptance, Performance, Load, or Integration tests and new test cases while maintaining and adding to existing automation
- Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify new feature requirements
- Diagnose and report issues and defects based on test failures
- Work independently and communicate with the various teams involved with the release process and testing
- Assist with test metrics and reporting standards, analytics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms

Salary:
Salary Range: $140,000-$160,000
This salary range represents BetterCloud’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting, and BetterCloud may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. The final salary for this position will be determined in BetterCloud’s sole discretion, consistent with applicable law, and based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the employee’s work experience, skills, and qualifications for the role, as well as the needs of BetterCloud’s business and other operational considerations.
