Job Posting: Associate, Global Electronic Communications Surveillance
Job Purpose/Background:
The Global Electronic Communications Surveillance (“GECS”) program includes the review of electronic communications that are identified via BlackRock’s electronic communications surveillance platform for further review based on firm-established flagging rules, as well as routine sampling. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Associate in our Mumbai, India office. The Associate will play a lead role in the GECS Team, assisting with the overall management of the function. They will also be responsible for reviewing the electronic correspondence flagged by the firm’s surveillance software, escalating potential violations of firm policy or industry rules. This position will partner with other internal departments such as Legal and Compliance, Human Resources, and Information Security and will interact with the various business groups of the individuals whose communications are subject to review.
The successful candidate will assist with managing the day-to-day surveillance process, including maintaining policies and procedures, and interacting with our third-party service provider for our surveillance software.
The successful candidate will be very detail oriented and inquisitive, have strong analytical & critical thinking skills and have the ability to bring issues to resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the management of the day-to-day surveillance process for electronic communications, including email, Teams, and Bloomberg chat.
Review electronic communications, ensuring compliance with all internal policies and procedures and applicable industry regulations.
Maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to the use and surveillance of electronic communications.
Support the relationship management of our third-party service provider for our surveillance software to ensure optimal performance.
Identify and implement process improvements within existing procedures
Assist with the process to measure, track, analyze, and report statistical data
Demonstrate sound judgment while resolving issues
Maximize existing reporting resources and develop additional resources, as regulatory and business needs require
Work on related projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelors /Masters degree in a related field with overall 5+ Years of experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, with a focus on electronic communications surveillance.
Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
