Overview of Responsibilities
We are actively searching for an Associate for our Global Revenue Accounting team. The candidate will be responsible for performing selected day-to-day responsibilities of the group at BlackRock. Responsibilities include closing of books, billing and reconciliation of certain accounts.
The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, highly analytical and pro-active with respect to identifying and implementing process change in order to obtain increased accuracy, improved internal controls and greater efficiencies. Additionally, the candidate should be able to flourish in an extremely fast-paced and growing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for a professional who is a self-starter, a problem solver, and is dedicated with a strong accounting background.
Ensure invoices preparation, maintain client master database and review in compliance with contractual agreements
Manage timeliness and maintain client relationship
Act as a deep subject matter expert, lead discussions, provide solutions, create operational control framework and drive for operational excellence and enhanced client experience.
Liaise with relationship managers and resolve client queries
Liaise with external/ internal administrators to resolve variances in AUM, advisory administrative fees, and waivers
Analyse and review revenue accounting and controls
Ensure compliance with CASS and SOX regulations
Close Month-end books and perform variance analysis
Work with the collections department to research and resolve credit issues or discrepancies
Lead statutory audits by providing backups and schedules
Assist on special requests and provide timely responses
Support various projects, including automation/standardization efforts and the evolution of standard deliverables and lead initiatives to improve our operating model collaborating with internal business and technology partners
Required Education, Training and Licenses:
Chartered Accountant / Postgraduate in Finance with 6+ years of experience, preferably in financial services.
Required experience & skills:
Thorough knowledge of internal controls as they relate to accounting operations of a publicly traded entity
Strong understanding of accounting principles and ability to guide team members
Must have a willingness to delve into a problem and understand the root cause
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational, follow-up skills are required
Ability to work with large volumes of data and maintain high levels of accuracy
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Must have analytical abilities and should be able to analyse situations, draw conclusions and recommend action plans
Good working knowledge of MS Office, specially MS Excel
Experience with Oracle/Hyperion ledger system would be an advantage
Experience in handling a team would be preferred
