Lead a dynamic team dedicated to shaping the future of retirement solutions at the world’s largest asset manager.
The Head of Retirement Marketing will lead the strategic direction and execution of marketing initiatives tailored to the retirement segment. This role is critical in enhancing our brand presence, driving engagement, and promoting our retirement solutions through effective digital marketing, content creation and activation, events, and special projects.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in marketing strategy and execution, strong leadership qualities, and a deep understanding of the retirement industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Firmwide strategic retirement initiatives:
- Lead and participate in cross-functional, strategic retirement initiatives, research projects, product launches, program development, events and other initiatives – working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to achieve shared goals.
Team Leadership:
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Represent team’s needs, priorities, and accomplishments on various leadership teams and SteerCos (Retirement, Americas Marketing, Project Encore)
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organization, effectively communicating retirement thought leadership and marketing strategies and aligning priorities.
Content and Spokesperson Strategy:
- Oversee the development of engaging and impactful content focused on retirement, ensuring alignment with brand and commercial objectives.
- Collaborate with team members to manage project timelines, governance, and reporting mechanisms using tools like AirTable.
- Lead initiatives for industry partnerships and assess opportunities for research collaborations.
- Hold the pen on strategic messaging, white papers, and other content as needed.
- Establish and communicate new spokesperson strategies, focusing on authenticity and personal storytelling.
Events Management:
- Direct the planning and execution of events, including webinars and in-person gatherings, while ensuring strong partnerships with internal stakeholders.
- Manage logistics for owned events and collaborate on external event participation to maximize exposure and engagement.
Digital Marketing Strategy:
- Develop a robust social media strategy and oversee owned, earned, and paid media initiatives to increase brand visibility and client engagement.
- Work closely with communications and digital teams to drive consistent messaging across platforms.
- Guide the optimization and maintenance of company websites relevant to retirement marketing, ensuring effective content hierarchy and user journeys.
- Collaborate with web team members to implement improvements based on past audits.
Engagement Tied to Commercial Results:
- Guide the development of measurement frameworks to assess the effectiveness of marketing efforts, partnering across the marketing department.
- Ensure accurate representation of retirement marketing impact within broader firm metrics.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in retirement or financial services thought leadership and marketing / communications.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- Strong understanding of content strategy, digital marketing, and event management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in marketing analytics and measurement tools.
