Business Unit Overview:
BlackRock Real Estate currently manages nearly $23 billion invested in direct properties within the United States, Europe and APAC. The Real Estate Equity business invests across a broad array of investment strategies including core, value-add and opportunistic, through separate accounts and commingled funds. Our extensive experience encompasses all major property types including residential, industrial, retail, and office.
Role Description & Responsibilities:
The Transaction Vice President will lead the acquisition, disposition, financing activities within northern California and the Pacific Northwest. Specific responsibilities will include the following:
Sourcing investment opportunities that align with our client’s investment objectives. This includes multi-family, industrial, retail, and office investments across core, value-add, and opportunistic strategies.
Lead the negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, as well as joint venture agreements.
Assist the team in underwriting potential real estate acquisitions by: 1) producing detailed pro forma cash flow and investment return models using ARGUS and Microsoft Excel; 2) researching markets and submarkets; 3) analyzing both macro and micro trends as it relates to specific asset classes; and 4) generating associated quantitative and qualitative analyses
Lead the due diligence and closing processes
Prepare investment memoranda and supporting materials for investment committee review, and lead the presentation of those materials.
Maintain internal database applications for tracking acquisitions, dispositions and on-going property operations
Lead the disposition process for assets sales in region
Travel will be required, as needed
Participate in special projects, as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
Track record of high academic achievement. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, real estate finance, or related disciplines preferred
6-8 years of previous experience in real estate principal investing, asset management, financing, development or investment banking
Must be proficient and have demonstrated experience working in all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of ARGUS is required.
Ideal candidate will have a combination of strong written / verbal communication skills and a demonstrated attention to detail
Must be able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and have the willingness to take on additional responsibility
