The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is looking for a Test & Evaluation Engineer - Structural Dynamics Lab to join our team in Tukwila, WA. This position will support test planning and execution activities in the field of Vibration, Shock, Acoustics, and other environmental testing for all Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) and Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) products.
Up to 20% travel per year by flight to remote test locations, foreign and domestic, for two or more weeks at a time may be required to support program objectives. Extended shifts, weekend support and non-1st shift work could be occasionally required.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Mid-Level and Senior Test & Evaluation Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Perform structural Dynamic / Vibration testing on airplanes & airplane components, including data acquisition, digital signal processing, and modal analysis
Work with flight testing of experimental aircraft (ground & flight) requiring ability to attain flight medical clearance for flying on test aircraft
Perform Test Engineer duties including sensor placement, wire routing, hardware/computer setup, test teardown in environments including laboratory, flight line, manufacturing floor, aircraft on the ground and aircraft in-flight
Execute structural dynamic testing including Shock Test, Drop Test, Vibro-Acoustic Test, Fixed-Base Shaker Test and Static Engine Test
Support the development and documentation of test methods, procedures, and instrumentation to ensure repeatability and productivity
Analyze, process, and format data to customer requirements
Perform correlation of modal analysis data vs analytical data
Develop test plans and supports development and documentation of test safety procedures accordingly
Work under general direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Experience or a basic understanding of Shock and Vibration testing principles
Experience in Noise and Vibration technical competencies
Experience/knowledge of signal analysis in both time and frequency domains
Experience with programming languages
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time both domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 3: 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Level 4: 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
2+ years of experience working with modal analysis
2+ years of experience as a Test Engineer in the field of vibration and shock test planning and execution
Acquisition and analysis software experience including XModal, M+P, VibeRunner, LMS Test Lab, B&K Pulse/Connect, HEAD Artemis
Experience with CAD Design
Programming experience in C++, LabVIEW, MATLAB or Python

Summary Pay Range for Associate level (Level 2): $85,850 – $116,150
Summary Pay Range for Mid-level (Level 3): $102,000 – $138,000
Summary Pay Range for Senior level (Level 4): $121,550 – $164,450
