We are seeking a talented Systems Administrator who also has experience with Cisco and Linux technologies to manage and maintain our IT infrastructure and client communication systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cisco and Linux systems administration and a solid understanding of network technologies and equipment. This individual will be responsible for taking ownership of a system and presenting clients with future iterations. Youll participate in the development of a system of interest, encompassing hardware or software, through its entire life cycle, risk and opportunity management, and tailoring of processes to meet the needs of the specific project. Youll apply advanced skills or extensive technical expertise and full industry knowledge. Youll develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Youll work without considerable direction, mentors and may supervise team members.

As a Systems Administrator on our team, you have the chance to shape this classified mission by joining a team of skilled technicians providing support for a 24x7x365 operations center, associated communications sites, and systems. You will install, administer, and maintain Linux, Cisco and Windows based systems, ensuring high availability and performance. Youll monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular updates and patches. Youll manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings on a variety servers and configure and maintain network communication systems, including hardware and software components. Youll integrate network technologies with client mission-based systems for seamless operation and data flow and provide technical support and guidance to internal teams on network and software technology matters. Youll document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps and collaborate with other IT and engineering teams to support project requirements and operational goals. Your ability to translate real-world needs into technical specifications makes you an integral part of delivering a customer focused engineering solution. Your combination of people skills and system administrator expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. You Have: 

• 2+ years of experience as a Cisco or Linux Administrator

• Experience with scripting languages, such as Bash, Python, or Perl

• Experience with network protocols, firewalls, and security best practices

• Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell for automating network-related tasks

• Knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu or Red Hat

• Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment

• Secret clearance

• HS diploma or GED

• Ability to obtain DoD 8140 System Administrator (451) Level II or III Certification, including Security+, Cloud+, CASP+, GFACT, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCSP, or CCNP-S, within 90 days of start date

Nice If You Have: 

• Experience with telecommunications, information technology (IT), or broadcasting industries

• Experience with tools, including Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Nagios to monitor and troubleshoot network performance

• Experience with network virtualization platforms, such as VMware, Hyper-V, or virtual network labs for testing configurations

• Experience with Command and Control (C2) Department of Defense (DoD) systems

• Possession of excellent problem-solving skills

• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Bachelors degree in a Computer Science or Information Technology related field

• RHCE, CCNA or related certification

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
