Nex-Gen Space and Ground Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Use your domain knowledge of space and ground systems and leading-edge technologies to help our clients develop novel solutions to solve complex systems of systems challenges for next-generation proliferated satellite constellations. Apply model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to develop and demonstrate design maturity. Use digital engineering tools and principles to decompose and manage performance budgets, such as data latency budgets. Apply systems engineering principles in model-based framework to derive requirements, behaviors, and architectural structures that meet the client’s needs and objectives. Apply agile development principals to develop roadmaps and work packages that align with project priorities and make use of collaboration and management software tools to manage project execution. Identify and pursue expanded or new technical scopes with customers and develop technical products to support the capture of additional work through viewpoints, white papers, or other intellectual capital. Communicate with high technical precision through succinct presentations, engineering reviews, and technical briefings and convey complex technical concepts simply to non-technical audiences 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with national security satellite systems for SIGINT or GEOINT

  • Experience with descriptive modeling tools, such as Cameo Enterprise Architecture and SysML language

  • Experience with a requirements management tool, such as IBM DOORS 

  • Experience with engineering scripting tools, such as MATLAB, Python, or VBA 

  • Knowledge of the TCPED process as it relates to C5ISR systems   

  • Knowledge of satellite and ground system architectures 

  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

  • Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field

Additional Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with engineering for cloud-based technologies 

  • 1+ years of experience with development of proliferated satellite architectures, for either commercial or government space systems 

  • Experience with data fabric architecture and related technologies, such as Confluent 

  • Experience developing satellite modeling and simulation scenarios 

  • Experience developing solutions in classified environments within the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense 

  • Experience in Agile and DevSecOps software development 

  • Experience with compute virtualization, such as Kubernetes, or VMWare  

  • Knowledge of automation techniques or artificial intelligence and machine learning

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
