Job Description


Reporting to the CFO, the Corporate Controller is responsible for the companys accounting operations. This includes producing periodic financial reports, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The controller is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the companys reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

  

Responsibilities


  • Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Manage outsourced functions, including external auditors, to timelines and quality standards.
  • Issue timely financial statements and determine ways to optimize the existing processes to speed time to close with ever-improving accuracy.
  • Assist in developing the annual budget and quarterly re-forecast process, identifying opportunities to enhance financial outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local tax filing requirements and timing.
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the departments goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the accounting operations of the entity, especially the control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures, and play a key role in integrating any add-on organizations.
  • Ensure that accounts payable and receivable functions follow agreed-upon processes, are paid promptly, and all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable.
  • Oversee the processing of payroll and benefits activities, including maintenance of records, and ensure compliance with HR policies and governmental requirements. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications


  • A proven, successful leader with 10+ years of documented success.
  • Professional experience reflects a progressive increase in responsibility, preferably within a SaaS or highly recurring Tech-Enabled Services environment. 
  • Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or any other related field. 
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage strengths of the current finance team members, desire to clarify roles and responsibilities, and develop and implement training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.
  • Leadership experience in strengthening internal communications with staff at all organizational levels and creating and promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Integrity and credibility; a proactive, hands-on strategic thinker.
  • Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.
  • Technology savvy experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software.
  • Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team; the foresight and ability to delegate accordingly
  • Keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills, which allow for strategic data interpretation 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board, or other outside partners
  • Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels, including finance and non-finance managers


This is a full-time remote position located in the US. Employees hired within a designated radius of the office are expected to work on-site according to a schedule set by management based on the requirements of their role.


Benefits & Compensation


  • The US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000-$200,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
