What’s so great about working on Calendly’s Engineering team? We make things possible for our customers through innovation. Why do we need you? Well, we are looking for a Senior UI/UX Engineer who will bring a deep expertise in Design Systems and component-driven applications using Typescript, JavaScript, React, Redux, and Redux Toolkit (RTK). You will report to one of our Senior Engineering Managers and will be responsible for building and maintaining reusable UI components and libraries to enhance developer productivity and drive a consistent user experience across multiple products. You will collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to build intuitive, performant, scalable, and reusable components that developers can seamlessly integrate across supported platforms (web, mobile, extensions).
A day in the life of a Senior UI/UX Engineer at Calendly
On a typical day, you will be working on:
- Participating in scrum ceremonies and team meetings with cross-functional teams (engineers, designers, product managers, and QA) to discuss ongoing projects, blockers, and daily goals
- Refining Design System and Component Libraries for consistency across all products
- Updating or creating new UI components in the component library
- Creating documentation for developers and designers on how to use the components effectively
- Guiding junior team members and ensure code quality through reviews and mentorship
- Working on automated tests for the UI for bugs, inconsistencies, or usability issues and ensuring that it functions as expected
What do we need from you?
- 7+ years of professional experience in frontend/UI development with a strong focus on React and component-based architectures
- Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles
- Familiarity with UX/UI test frameworks like - Jest, Selenium, Cypress, TestCafe, Playwright, Puppeteer, Chromatic, etc.
- Proven ability to create reusable UI/UX components that are scalable, performant, and easy to integrate across multiple projects
- Familiarity with UI/UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Storybook) and experience working closely with design teams
- Solid understanding of design systems and the ability to implement them as reusable code components
- Experience working with RESTful APIs and asynchronous data handling in a React application
- Knowledge of best practices in cross-browser compatibility and web accessibility (WCAG)
- Experience with extracting, refactoring, and modernizing legacy codebases, ensuring smooth transitions to modern component-based architectures
- Availability for participation in on-call rotation, ensuring prompt and effective responses to business-critical alerts outside of regular working hours
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time

The ranges listed below are the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change.
Calendly takes a number of factors into consideration when determining an employee’s starting salary, including relevant experience, relevant skills sets, interview performance, location/metropolitan area, and internal pay equity.
Base salary is just one component of Calendly’s total rewards package. All full-time (30 hours/week) employees are also eligible for our Quarterly Corporate Bonus program (or Sales incentive), equity awards, and competitive benefits.
Calendly uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location, or the onsite building location if hybrid, to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current geographic zones are as follows:
- Tier 1: San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, New York City, NY
- Tier 2: Chicago, IL, Austin, TX, Denver, CO, Boston, MA, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Miami, FL, and all other cities in CA.
- Tier 3: All other locations not in Tier 1 or Tier 2
