Senior Associate, Customer Marketing - Card Partnerships (Hybrid)

We’re looking for an experienced marketing strategist to develop and manage omnichannel marketing prospect campaigns on Capital One’s rapidly growing Card Partnerships business. This Senior Associate role  will get the opportunity to work on several of the most admired brands in the world. For example, our current partner portfolio includes brands like BJ’s, REI, Bass Pro Shops, and Williams Sonoma.

This role will be responsible for launching new programs to improve customer lifetime value across the whole portfolio, including maintenance of robust Credit and Contactability marketing strategies as well as building net-new strategies to drive spend and engagement with existing customers.

The successful candidate is customer-centric and data driven with an understanding of how to leverage journey & behavior-based marketing to influence customer behavior. He/she should thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and collaborative environment.

  

Responsibilities:

 

  • Partner with Manager, Customer Marketing to develop new marketing strategies designed to increase engagement and spend among existing Partnerships customers, identifying new opportunities based on business or customer needs

  • Review performance, identify opportunities for improvement or testing, building out a learning agenda and executing 

  • Leverage customer insights, performance results, and creative thinking to set clear goals and devise effective marketing campaigns.

  • Lead the cross-functional group of associates responsible for delivering new use cases, including Creative, Segmentation, email coding and channel delivery to manage end to end delivery.

  • Partner with Product to ensure capabilities are being developed to meet team/customer needs, as needed.

  • Identify potential impediments to problem solve autonomously with teammates or escalate to leaders for help as necessary.

  • Merchandize and socialize marketing & business results with broader stakeholder groups across the Partnerships, Card, and Enterprise.

  • Leverage customer insights & performance results to identify opportunities to optimize marketing programs via creative testing or adopting new capabilities.

  • Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams including analytics, research, operations, legal and client/partner.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrates strong curiosity, ability to learn quickly, and think creatively to uncover and apply actionable consumer insights.

  • Has experience with cobrand credit card marketing for partner or financial institutions, or similar experience.

  • Has a passion for leveraging data, metrics and insights to drive results and learnings.

  • Can manage the details of multiple projects, deadlines and changing priorities, while maintaining excellent and accurate work.

  • Thrives on collaboration, the opportunity to build in white space and the drive for results.

  • Is a highly effective communicator who can influence internal decision makers with formal recommendations and informal networking.

  • Proactive in identifying opportunities and improvements

  • Ability to easily pivot in an environment with shifting priorities 

  • Maintains an understanding of external environmental trends, industry trends, competitor trends to spark fresh ideas and ensure team capabilities can meet the evolving marketplace.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors Degree or Military experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in marketing or project management

  • At least 2 years experience in planning, executing and analyzing marketing programs

  • At least 2 years of experience managing creative processes, partnering with creative teams and developing creative optimization frameworks

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years in financial services industry

  • At least 2 years in retail industry

  • At least 2 years in brand management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago, IL: $86,000 - $98,200 for Sr. Associate, Marketing


 

McLean, VA: $94,600 - $107,900 for Sr. Associate, Marketing

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
