What you’ll do  

Basic functions and scope of the job

  • Requirement Engineering and specification of new features.  
  • Software Architecture, code design, ensure consistent code quality 
  • Support fellow developers 
  • Feature development for our products (MRV+, Marketplace, Carbonfuture Next, …) 
  • Support and maintenance (2nd and 3rd level support, bug fixing) 
  • DevOps (continuous integration, continuous deployment, monitoring)

Work performed

  • Work autonomously on features including backend and frontend development to extend our product. This includes automatic testing and documentation 
  • Write specification and guidelines 
  • Backlog management using Jira or similar tools 
  • Support fellow developers in domain and technical decisions 
  • Bugfixing, reproduce issue locally, debug 
  • Proactively resolve support tickets including communicating with the user (internally and externally). Coordinate with supply or sales team, if needed. 
  • Review merge requests from other developers 
  • Any DevOps work, such as build pipeline and CI/CD of our software 
  • Handle all possible work related to our software infrastructure (i.e. exchange expired certificates, add an application to azure, etc..) 

What you bring to the table  

Required 

  • Competency in Java, Typescript, HTML, SCSS, React, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Docker, PostgreSQL, Git, Software Patterns, Software Architecture, Gradle, Clean Code, SCRUM, JIRA 
  • 3+ years of experience managing a software team, including mentorship and coaching experience 

Preferred 

  • High-level communication skills, ability to interact with power users and solicit user feedback 
  • High-level internal communicator, ability to uncomplicate the complex for colleagues and teammates on internal presentations.

Carbonfuture offers remote and hybrid work options. This role is remotely based in Europe with preference for Frankfurt, Berlin, or Freiburg, Germany; or  Zürich, Switzerland
