Job Details

The Senior Manager, Buying is responsible for replenishment operations leading a team of Buyers in their procurement activities. This position is responsible for optimizing the complex balance between cash flow efficiency, service level maximization, and compliance to manufacturer and customer agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Places strong emphasis on staff development and growth by creating challenging work assignments, and providing mentoring opportunities with a group of supply chain professionals.

  • Accountable for key business processes driving procurement activities and contributes substantially to the quality and effectiveness of the service level performance measures; ensures that performance results are continuously improving.

  • Works with leadership to resolve open issues that impact other departments such as sales, customer service, operations, finance and contracts.

  • Continuously reviews forecasting and purchase order placement processes to leverage and maximize service level objectives and minimize inventory investment and overstock creation.

  • Recommends new processes in line with best practices to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Assists in the optimization of items within the Cencora network through effective SKU rationalization and new item on-boarding.

  • Monitors compliance to meet manufacturer contract requirements and provides subject matter expertise in contract negotiations with manufacturers.

  • Accountable for training and validating that the buyers are meeting all expectations and requirements relative to all buyer activities.

  • This role would be the primary back-up to the Director during any time that the Director is unavailable.

  • Travel required for management of remote employees, vendor meetings, trade shows or as required by the business.

  • Complies with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience


Requires broad training in fields such as business, procurement, administration, accounting, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor’s degree program; normally requires a minimum of five (5) years related experience in supply chain management with progressively increased responsibility.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across the organization and lead multiple projects of

  • Outstanding problem solving skills and ability to apply the appropriate tools and level of analysis to a specific situations

  • Ability to work with suppliers and customers in designing and implementing solutions that yield incremental value-added solutions in the supply chain arena

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills

  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail

  • Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices

  • Strong computer skills; SAP knowledge beneficial

Salary Range*

$98,200 - 151,360

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
