The Software Asset Manager (IT Service Manager) will oversee a team of skilled software asset managers within the Technology Asset Management team. This role requires strong leadership capabilities to guide the team in maintaining software license compliance, ensuring timely renewals, and adhering to Cigna’s Technology Asset Management standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Manage stakeholder relationships with key groups, including product owners, Supply Chain Management, Finance, and Technology Support teams.
  • Lead team members to maximize business value while minimizing risks related to software licensing compliance, optimization, and end-of-life software management.
  • Foster a highly engaged and collaborative relationship with the Technology Asset Management team to ensure adherence to asset management policies, procedures, regulations, and governance models.
  • Conduct regular coaching and feedback sessions to support team development.

Strategy:

  • Collaborate with the Technology Asset Management Senior Manager to define and execute the strategic direction for the Software Asset Management team.
  • Promote a lean agile mindset across the team.
  • Ensure the delivery of a consistent and reliable customer experience.
  • Work closely with third-party vendors to drive governance and ensure delivery of commitments.

Continuous Service Improvement:

  • Support service improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing customer experience and increasing overall process efficiency while maintaining effective controls over software assets.
  • Drive continuous improvement and optimization of Asset Management services based on feedback from the team and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in software asset management, with a strong understanding of licensing compliance, optimization, and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of managing teams effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Familiarity with asset management tools such as Flexera, ServiceNow, and Ariba.
  • Agile methodology experience is preferred, with a commitment to continuous improvement and service delivery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across various departments and external partners.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 105,000 - 175,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
