Within the US Retail Banking group, the Products and Segments team is responsible for managing complex, interconnected projects across the Retail Bank control management through overseeing, resolving, and remediating high severity issues, managing business performance analytics and scorecard management. The team provides strategic support to the Retail Bank leadership team.  The Program Management Lead in this role will report into the Product and Segments (Business Operations) Team and own, develop, enhance, and execute on the Account Opening related processes and programs (with potential to expand to scope to account closing oversight).  A key aspect of this role will be coordinating with the LOB’s to better align the Account Opening process across channels. Additionally, perform key controls to mitigate risk, continually identifying automation and enhancements.

This role is part of a centralized function to provide support for new account opening processes across various business channels, with particular focus on Retail Bank Account Opening (and closing). The Program Management Lead will report into the USRB Account Opening/Closing Oversight Manager. The Program Mgmt. Lead will support the ongoing evolution of USRB Account Opening Governance and expanding to account closures based on most urgent needs, serving as an intricate part of executing the end-to-end business process for the US Retail bank organization.

The Program Management Lead is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence, and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas within Retail Bank, and many cases outside of Retail Bank. Significant impact on USRB Account Opening through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family

Responsibilities:

  • Supports planning, directing and coordination of day-to-day activities of running programs related to the development and delivery of new account opening for the U.S. Retail Bank.

  • Applies in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the subfunction as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function; and requires basic commercial awareness.

  • Assesses creation of program plan and charter, benefits management plan, stakeholder management plan, acceptance plan, and central program issue log.

  • Oversees program plans meet business needs as described in the program initiation documents.

  • Ensures all stakeholders are identified and included in scope definition activities and understand the program schedule and key milestones.

  • Works with Program Sponsor to ensure business case cost benefit analysis is in line with business objectives.

  • Monitors program commitment from those assigning resources.

  • Escalates program risks to the Program Director, or Program Sponsor, when appropriate.

  • Provides well-reasoned, balanced assessments of issues and questions, in a timely fashion Provide reporting and issue resolution for regulatory exams tied to Account Closure.

  • Strong process and project management skills including the ability to manage several large initiatives/Issues simultaneously.  Detail oriented, analytical.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made.

  • Establish proper data metrics and reporting structures to integrate into Account Opening framework for Retail Bank.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years minimum related experience in a combination of Retail Bank, Issues Management, Technology, customer communication, Operations, and/or Controls.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

  • Prior experience in control design and ongoing program governance post execution.
