About the Role: 

Collective is dedicated to increasing the number of financially successful businesses-of-one by enabling self employed people to focus on their passion, not their bookkeeping. In this role, you will be helping our members by doing their monthly bookkeeping using Xero, which is integrated with Gusto, our payroll processing system.

Responsibilities: 

  • Categorizing transactions
  • Reconciling your accounts
  • Preparing monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
  • Ensure payroll and tax documents are accurate
  • Closing your members books (up to 100 members/month) to prepare for taxes
  • Communicating with clients via email

What we want you to bring:

  • Strong accounting background in functional area with at least three (3) years’ work experience, but preferably, five (5) years.  
  • Experience in working with a US or multinational company.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) or equivalent in Accounting from a reputable college or university, preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), preferred.
  • Knowledge of US tax, US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley Act, a plus.
  • QBO and Xero experience is desirable but not essential. Proven record, preferably within medium-large organization
  • Ability to learn quickly and be proactive in seeking additional challenges.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate information clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels of seniority, both formally and informally
  • Contributes fully to an effective team environment; demonstrates willingness to work cooperatively with others to achieve shared goals
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, enthusiasm, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
  • The ability to analyze issues and to find resolution to problems by using a rational, systematic approach.
  • Team player with flexible and committed, can-do approach.
