Compensation includes a base salary of $90,100.00 - $150,100.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Cox Automotive is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager working in a successful team environment supporting budget/forecasting activities, long-range planning and ad hoc financial analysis.  A key responsibility of this Finance Manager is owning month-end processes across our Retail Solutions organization on consolidation, reporting, and analytics for revenue metrics. This will include sensitivity analysis and assessment of trends. The candidate will also own key reports on competitive updates and macroeconomic impacts. Candidates must have a solid understanding of financial management concepts, complex modeling, accounting procedures, variance analysis, the ability to analyze large data sets and synthesize information for leaders in presentation environments. The candidate is expected to quickly gain an understanding of our wide portfolio of businesses with application to these responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to): 

  • Consolidation and interpretation of revenue metric results, variance analysis, and key business drivers to identify trends and make recommendations based on risks and opportunities, product profitability, operational efficiencies, and overall financial and strategic alignment with company goals and objectives.   

  • Lead consolidation and story-telling efforts with the analysis of month end results, forecasts, and budgets, to better inform business decisions.  

  • Owner of Retail R&O process and monthly Retail Performance Metrics (RPM) package. 

  • Assist in the annual LRP budgeting and strategic planning process.  

  • Partner with Retail Solutions finance leads, Cox Automotive corporate, OneStream team, and matrix partners to ensure accurate, timely reporting, and continuous process improvement. 

  • Lead efforts to improve the structure of our analytical tools, data, and processes to enhance the company’s analytic capabilities and understanding of business performance.  

  • Assist with developing recommendations through analysis, providing financial and operational insights necessary to help manage the company’s financials. 

  • This role will have one direct report. Will lead, coach, and develop this team member. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting with 6+ years of relevant experience with a strong focus in financial planning and analysis. A candidate may also have a Masters Degree with 4+ years of experience or a Ph.D. with 1+ year of experience. A non-degreed candidate will have 10+ years of work experience in a financial environment.

  • Strong analytical ability with track record of delivering results. 

  • Advanced MS Excel skills required, including logical and reference formulas, financial functions, correlation through pivots and logic, best practice structure/design, assumption toggling, and formatting for executive presentations. 

  • Proven ability to prepare executive level presentations and insights. 

  • Self-starter with flexibility and willingness to manage multiple, changing priorities and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Experience in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating one’s own work. 

  • Work effectively on multiple assignments, activities or projects simultaneously. 

  • Demonstration of strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Proven ability to prepare and present executive level presentations and insights. 

  • Prior managerial experience preferred. 

  • Advanced MS PowerPoint skills preferred. 

  • Experience with Oracle, OneStream and Workday reports is a strong plus. 

  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) 

  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts, practices and procedures. 

  • Occasional travel may be required (~10% or less).
