Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $64,200.00 - $96,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Supervisor, Estimations provides supervision and direction to mobile Estimators team members to attain the set estimation goals and provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. This role will drive continuous process improvement, designing and recommending steps to improve efficiency and guarantee flawless execution. The Supervisor, Estimation will mentor and train other Estimators in the most conducive way to their learning style.

This role requires an in-depth understanding of Light, Medium and Heavy-Duty vehicles and trailers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises a team performing estimation operations to facilitate and execute the timely and accurate estimates for our customer base while delivering superior customer service
  • Allocates assignments, monitors team performance and addresses training and performance issues in a prompt and effective manner
  • Works with stakeholders to ensure ongoing communication, issue identification and resolution and alignment of expectation about process and procedures
  • Ensures Estimators receive proper training and are up to date with relevant certificates and qualifications
  • Performs and/or ensures the team performs daily operational tasks, including estimate generation and work order placement
  • Leads training and monitors to ensure adherence to estimation processes and systems to enable maximum efficiency and productivity 
  • Advises and provides training for the Estimator I, II, Sr and Lead in resolving complicated or advanced estimation issues/concerns 
  • Mentor Estimator I, II, Sr and Lead on best practices and techniques on how to improve accuracy and streamline processes 
  • Addresses and resolves issues escalated from Estimation team members, technicians and/or customers including boundary partners and leading all expedited requests
  • Identifies abnormalities and either resolves or refers to more senior management for consideration and resolution 
  • Monitors efficiency of processes and advises on measures to enhance both productivity and performance recommending steps to improve both efficiency and effectiveness 
  • Identifying revenue enhancement opportunities
  • Liaising with internal technical / support teams to help address service inquiries and issues
  • Monitors repair status, completion timelines, and customer communications related to approved estimates
  • Keeps records of repair details and completes necessary paperwork
  • Follow up on outstanding quotes and prioritize workflow to ensure effectiveness
  • Develops positive working relationships with Estimation team members, internal stakeholders and customers
  • Responds to internal partner issues and questions, ensuring a mutual understanding and commitment to delivering the best possible customer service 
  • Serve as a trustworthy advocate for the customer by providing sound guidance and advice regarding any customer technical inquiries or general questions related to products and services provided by the company
  • Follows job related duties as directed by manager
  • Collect miscellaneous information and parts pricing from various manufacturers and vendors
  • Assists with other duties and special projects as assigned
  • Manage workload balance using dashboards and reporting tools
  • Workforce Mgmt.: Approve time/PTO, tower movements
  • Support daily estimate overflow by completing estimates accordingly
  • Team Facilitation/Transformation Change Mgmt.: Leading a team through change, weekly operations
  • Onboard and assist new team hires with adjustments to the organizations expectations and processes

Education

  • Diploma or GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a batchers degree and 3 years’ experience, master’s degree and 1 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 years’ experience in a related field. 

Experience

  • 5+ years experience in service advisement, maintenance coordination, technician dispatching, or Diesel technology or similar capacity Technician role
  • Minimum High School diploma or GED required
  • Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer service and communication capabilities with key stakeholders 
  • Excellent oral and written communication is mandatory 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong Excel and data entry skills, and the ability to learn new platforms, and proficient use of Word and PowerPoint 
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a track record to collaborate cross-functionally, build positive relationships and become a trusted partner to relevant cross functional partners 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively interact and collaborate with all levels within the organization  
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional follow-through and analytical skills such as ability to gather raw data and to process that data into a meaningful form 
  • Ability to work effectively in a face paced environment, under pressure, and able to shift priorities quickly to adapt to rapidly changing environments 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment and with all levels in the organization 
  • Excellent problem solving and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail 
  • Proven ability to work with minimal direction, as well as be resourceful and independent in solving problems
  • Customer Communication: Strong, confident customer-facing skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Common knowledge of the trucking industry; experience with fleet maintenance or other transportation experience in automotive/trucking is preferred Proficiency with Mitchell One or similar systems 
  • Prior experience with estimations in the automotive industry

Education Required:

  • Diploma or GED and 5+ years of relevant experience or; 
  • BA/BS +3 years experience or;  
  • MS + 1 years experience or;  
  • Ph.D. + up to 1 year experience or; 
  • No degree and 10 years experience
