About the Role:

CrowdStrike is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test III (SDET) to join the Cloud Security Workload Protection Team. Our new colleague will be responsible for developing automation and building tools that ensure the quality, reliability, and accuracy of a globally distributed, fault-tolerant, and highly scalable cloud ecosystem using Golang. Prior experience with Golang is not required but will be helpful.

You should have a strong interest in CrowdStrike’s mission and a willingness to engage with the needs of our product teams and customers.

About the Team:

You’ll be joining the team responsible for building products to help secure cloud-native and containerized workloads. Workload protection places security controls at the level of individual application workloads. It enables organizations to identify and remediate vulnerabilities across the application lifecycle, enforcing compliance and implementing security configuration and best practices across containers, Kubernetes, and any workload. We also provide security tools and mechanisms into the earliest phases of the application development process. Vulnerable code is identified as it is developed rather than in the testing phase, which reduces costs and results in more secure apps.

What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to existing tools, frameworks, and related solutions.

  • Plan, design, develop, verify, deploy, and maintain automated test suites.

  • Increase our automated test coverage, and improve our release quality and velocity.

  • Analyze product, system, and feature designs for flaws and improvements.

  • Improve, maintain, and automate our cloud infrastructure on AWS.

  • Validate and verify the integration of platform systems, services, data, and applications.

  • Validate and verify customer-facing features, end-to-end, across the product platform.

  • Leverage new open source solutions to build new tools that test things in new ways.

  • Be part of engineering efforts turning rapid prototypes into large-scale core services.

  • Brainstorm, define, and build collaboratively with members across multiple teams.

What You’ll Need:

  • Overall 3+ years in Quality Assurance out of which at least 3+ years is in test automation development or experience / as an SDET.

  • Solid experience in OOP, data structures, algorithms, distributed systems.

  • Experience working with Web Services – JSON or REST / gRPC / RPC / XML

  • Experience with running services in Kubernetes.

  • Understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges

  • Understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies

  • Team player skills – we embrace collaborating as a team as much as possible.

  • A thorough understanding of engineering best practices from appropriate testing paradigms to effective peer code reviews and resilient architecture.

  • The ability to thrive in a fast paced, test-driven, collaborative and iterative programming environment.

  • The skills to  meet your commitments on time and produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.

Bonus Points:

  • Authored and led successful open source libraries and projects

  • Contributions to the open source community (GitHub, Stack Overflow, blogging)

  • Existing exposure to Go, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch...

  • Prior experience in the cybersecurity or intelligence fields
