Join a dynamic team that strives to build brand impact for the payments division of Discover by leading event strategies that deliver against business objectives. As a B2B focused area of Discover, the Payments organization leverages events to drive brand awareness and connect with many of our important partners. In this role you will guide a team of Event planners to execute large-scale events around the world while owning and consulting the broader payments organization on event best practices. The Senior Manager Network Events is responsible for overseeing strategy, management and execution of the Network’s largest events including tradeshows, councils, meetings and more that grow the Discover Global Network brand.

Responsibilities

  • Guides event strategies and recommendations based on business priorities

  • Oversees a team that manages large tier events from concept to execution including regular travel to manage and plan for events both domestically as well as internationally

  • Manages the annual event calendar including gaining alignment from senior leadership during planning

  • Regularly reviews events for effectiveness and value to inform recommendations on adjustments.

  • Manages event agencies

  • Leads interactions and collaboration with stakeholders on events based on goals and objectives. Prioritizes opportunities based on highest value.

  • Guides and consults on events broadly for the Network

  • Establishes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and ensures alignment with senior leadership. Manages marketing performance and results over time.

  • Ensures responsible expense management across all events and delivers in line with forecast by +/- 5%

  • Owns and manages event processes and procedures to ensure strong compliance practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts, Sciences, Business, Technology, Computer Science, or related quantitative fields

  • 8+ years of experience in Business, Marketing, Management, Brand Communications, Project Management, Integrated Marketing, Advertising, Payments Services, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years large-scale event planning and management

  • 10+ years of experience in Business, Marketing, Management, Brand Communications, Project Management, Integrated Marketing, Advertising, Payments Services, or related field

  • In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience in Business, Marketing, Management, Brand Communications, Project Management, Integrated Marketing, Advertising, Payments Services, or related field

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $103,000.00 to $174,200.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
