Job Description:

Discover will not sponsor or transfer employment work visas for this position.  Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

The Senior Manager leading the Third Party Resiliency Program is responsible for the development, management and coordination of vendor resiliency assessments across the company. Responsible for managing a team that develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive vendor resiliency program which safeguards the enterprise and customer access to products and services. This involves managing team responsibilities independently, establishing direction, and prioritizing efforts. Serves as subject matter expert on multiple and highly complex business activities and demonstrates broad perspective and critical thinking that is cross functional, extending beyond area(s) of responsibility. In addition to these core functions, the Senior manager will have periodic involvement in regulatory exams, including drafting and reviewing exam responses; will lead and participate on cross-team department projects; and provide reporting to management. Develops and coaches teams to be able to identify, manage, and escalate risk, and effectively manages risk within the teams you oversee.

Responsibilities 

  • Managing a team that develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive vendor resiliency program. Oversees the evaluation, design, and implementation of programs and controls. Manages the Third Party resiliency initiatives pipeline. Identifies resiliency impacts and risk considerations. Reviews regulatory and audit findings. Manages remediation of risk issues. Directs the development of data analytics, metrics, reporting, and statistical analyses.

  • Directs the delivery of third party resiliency programs. Manages risk effectively by translating regulatory requirements and business needs to develop resiliency controls. Recommends remediation strategies to mitigate risk and close gaps.

  • Provides assurance, guidance, and direction in the formalization of the Third Party Resiliency framework through program governance, including standards, training, reporting, in partnership with the Third Party Risk Management Framework.

  • Provides leadership, mentoring, and development to the team. Collaborates and builds relationships with different program participants.

  • Challenges the status quo by evaluating situations from multiple facets. Able to lead discussions with senior management as well as demonstrate influence and decision-making across levels.

Minimum Qualifications 

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management, Security and Intelligence, or Information Technology.

  • 8+ years of experience in Risk Management, Financial Services, Process Improvement, or related.

  • 8+ years of experience in Implementing Business Continuity Program, Service Continuity, Risk Management, Incident Management, Emergency Management or related field(s).

  • 4+ years of experience working in a cross functional team.

  • 2+ years of experience leading teams (i.e. setting strategy, goals, performance management, delegation, hire-fire, performance evaluation, mentoring, motivating, coaching, development, etc.)

  • In Lieu of Education, 10+ years of experience in Business Continuity, Service Continuity, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Risk Management, Third Party Risk Management, Incident Management or related field(s).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management, Security and Intelligence, or Information Technology.

  • 10+ years of experience Risk Management, Financial Services, Process Improvement or related, including prior people management experience.

  • 10+ years of experience with compliance regulations, frameworks, and standards.

  • 10+ years of experience implementing Business Continuity Program, Service Continuity, Risk Management, Incident Management, Emergency Management or related field(s).

  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (or other BCP / Resiliency Certification).

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $103,000.00 to $174,200.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
