As a Software Engineer on, you will be part of our mission to simplify and streamline services throughout the Identity organization. You will be empowered to make technical and architectural decisions, and to influence the roadmap for your squad and the wider team, working in partnership with your peers across Product, Project Management and Engineering.

Identity Engineering delivers Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) capabilities across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) including but not limited to: D+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Parks. Identity Engineering squads build and run high-traffic and globally replicated systems which form an integral and visible part of every user’s journey at Disney properties.
The Identity Platform Consolidation squad is responsible for making sure consumer-facing application programming interfaces (APIs) are stable, performant, and can meet the broad needs of the business, while maintaining modern security standards. We are a mission-driven team working with squads throughout Disney to collaborate on improved solutions.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of stateful microservices and lambdas in a multi-region cloud environment.
Use Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Scrumban to plan day-to-day activities and drive continuous improvement over time.
Collaborate with your squad, Product Managers, Designers, QA, Operations, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and articulate technical decisions and outcomes.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3 years related work experience.
Familiarity with at least one of the following Java Virtual Machine (JVM) languages: Java, Scala, or Kotlin.
Familiarity with at least one of the following cloud providers: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Compute (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
A willingness to learn and experiment with new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with both object oriented programming (OOP) and functional programming (FP) best practices.
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Terraform, and infrastructure as code (IaC) best practices.
