The Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is the research division of the company. ATG’s mission is to look ahead, deliver insights, and innovate technological solutions that will fuel Dolby’s continued growth. Our researchers have a broad range of expertise related to computer science and electrical engineering, such as AI/ML, algorithms, digital signal processing, audio engineering, image processing, computer vision, data science & analytics, distributed systems, cloud, edge & mobile computing, computer networking, and IoT.

 

Join Us as a Researcher

At Dolby, we’re looking for a passionate researcher to bring expertise in computer vision and deep learning to our team. Your knowledge and experience in multi-view geometry, object recognition and detection, 3D scene representation and rendering, and signal/image/video processing will be essential for this role. With your strong understanding of the balance between computational complexity and performance, you’ll guide decisions that push our technology forward.

You’ll have the opportunity to explore and create innovative neural network architectures, advanced training methods, and new algorithms in the exciting realm of modern computer vision.

What You’ll Do

  • Dive deep into competitive technologies and understand how your work fits into the bigger picture.
  • Collaborate to define system contexts and identify success-driven requirements for new technologies.
  • Develop and demonstrate early-stage conceptual models that showcase feasibility.
  • Share your findings through well-documented technical papers and presentations.
  • Uphold Dolbys values of technical and ethical excellence, both within the workplace and in the industry.

What You Bring

  • A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Deep experience in creating algorithms for machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and 3D scene representation.
  • Familiarity with computer graphics and video processing systems, including applications in consumer and professional products.
  • Proficiency in tools like MATLAB, C/C++, OpenCV, Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
  • A self-motivated, fast learner with a collaborative mindset and minimal need for supervision.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience filing patents for groundbreaking technologies.
  • Hands-on application of computer vision and machine learning to real-world challenges.
  • A proven history of impactful research, publications, and patents in computer vision or computer graphics.

The Atlanta Area base salary range for this full-time position is $118,700-$163,300, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
