INTRODUCTION
Our Pet Food Segment focuses on creating innovative, nutritious formulations that boost pet health and well-being. By integrating nutritional optimization, ingredient selection, product development, quality assurance, and sustainability, we deliver high-quality, appealing pet food products that meet the needs of pets and their owners.
As our Senior Category Manager, youll oversee global Petfood spend and serve as the key link between Procurement and the Business Management team. You will collaborate closely with business management to initiate savings opportunities, develop integrated procurement plans, and define global sourcing strategies. Youll manage key suppliers, align priorities to meet KPI targets, and lead the transformation of Petfood category know-how from Animal Nutrition to TTH Ingredient Solutions. This strategic role requires managing complex supply markets, fostering supplier-customer relationships, and driving initiatives in strategic sourcing, supplier innovation, and sustainability. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Sourcing Strategy & Procurement Plan: Design and implement global and regional saving opportunities, regularly reporting the status of these initiatives.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, lead fact-based negotiations, and continuously track supplier performance to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business management, local premix business, and site teams to ensure effective procurement and resource allocation.
• Strategy Implementation: Monitor and ensure the implementation of sourcing strategies, breaking down organizational barriers and engaging business users for successful execution.
• Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Selection: Oversee the strategic sourcing process, select key suppliers, and manage collaboration for knowledge sharing and communication with local buyers.
• Performance Tracking: Measure and track internal performance, forecast savings, and communicate results.
• Internal Customer Management: Collect feedback from internal customers, identify further TCO reduction opportunities, and build credibility by providing expertise and support.
• Best Practices & Innovation: Ensure the use of strategic sourcing processes, best practices, and creative thinking.
• Cost Input & Competitive Advantage: Provide monthly cost inputs for premix costing and inform regional business managers about supply situations and product-related issues for competitive advantage.
• Legal Coordination: Collaborate with the Legal Department to ensure procurement processes comply with laws and DSM regulations.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Based on your experience, we offer a competitive base salary ranging from €95’000 to €120’000 per year (including holiday allowance and 13th month). Additional benefits include:

YOU BRING
• Masters degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Engineering or other relevant discipline.
• At least 7 years of professional experience (7-12 years) in purchasing in the life sciences sector, preferably in the animal feed and nutrition business.
• In-depth knowledge of the animal feed market, raw materials, pet food products/companies and premix business.
• Excellent knowledge of end-to-end procurement processes (strategic and operational) in a B2B context.
• Strong leadership and business skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders.
• Fluency in English.
