Position Overview:

As the Senior Manager of Enterprise Data Integrations, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing data integration initiatives across the organization. You will manage a team of data engineers, ensuring the successful implementation of enterprise data integration strategies. This role is key in developing and executing data integration frameworks, while ensuring robust data governance and seamless data flow across multiple systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with integration platforms and patterns, strong project delivery skills, and proven leadership abilities. Your primary focus will be on optimizing data integrations to support strategic decision-making, while ensuring the integrity, security, and accessibility of our data assets. You will lead a dynamic team, drive innovation, and play a critical role in fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).

  • 7+ years of experience in data integration, enterprise data management, or data architecture.

  • 2-3 years of leadership experience managing cross-functional teams.

  • Extensive experience in API-based development, including designing and implementing RESTful and SOAP APIs for system integrations.

  • Proficiency in real-time data integration, EDI, event-driven architectures, and microservices.

  • Experience with modern data integration platforms such as Fivetran, MuleSoft, Boomi, Talend, and Informatica.

  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies like Kubernetes (K8s) for deploying, scaling, and managing integrations in microservices environments.

  • Expertise in ETL/ELT processes, real-time data processing, and DataOps practices.

  • Experience with API management and service orchestration tools (e.g., Apigee, Kong).

  • Ability to design and implement scalable enterprise integration architectures supporting API-based, real-time, and batch processing.

  • Expertise with Kubernetes (K8s) for orchestrating containers in cloud-native environments and enabling modern integration workflows.

  • Proven track record of implementing data governance frameworks for integration environments to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.

  • Strong ability to communicate technical strategies and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in managing large-scale integration projects, including API development, real-time data pipelines, and cloud-native deployments.

  • Proven ability to use data integration to support strategic decision-making and drive business outcomes.

  • Solid knowledge of regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) in integration projects.

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) preferred.

  • Agile project management certifications (Scrum Master, PMP) are a plus.

 

Location Requirement:

This role is located in the Greater Phoenix area. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

Data Strategy and Governance

  • Lead the implementation of a data integration strategy aligned with organizational objectives to drive business outcomes.

  • Establish and enforce data governance policies related to integrations, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and security requirements.

  • Define and enforce data integration standards, including API standards, data quality, metadata, and master data management (MDM).

  • Collaborate with stakeholders in in-person meetings, ensuring alignment across departments.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and manage the data integration team, focusing on hiring, training, and professional development to support enterprise-level integrations.

  • Foster collaboration across teams (e.g., IT, finance, marketing, BI) to ensure consistency and effective utilization of integrated data sources.

  • Set performance goals and oversee project deliverables for all data integration initiatives.

  • Champion the use of data-driven insights by partnering with BI and domain teams, leveraging business architecture for innovation.

  • Drive solution architecture reviews in collaboration with Architecture and Integration stakeholders, ensuring alignment on integration frameworks.

Data Architecture and Integration

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data integration solutions across platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure).

  • Ensure close collaboration with integration teams to unify data from various systems, creating a cohesive ecosystem.

  • Expertise in ETL/ELT processes and real-time data integrations using tools like Kafka or similar streaming technologies.

  • Work closely with data modelers and Data Product Leads to ensure data models remain up-to-date and align with the integration framework.

  • Implement DataOps and DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native services to streamline integration operations and ensure scalable performance.

Data Quality and Security

  • Partner with Data Governance Leads and Data Product Managers to implement robust data quality frameworks ensuring consistency, accuracy, and completeness of integrated data.

  • Identify and resolve data integrity issues, promoting a culture of high standards across the organization.

  • Develop systems for data validation, cleansing, and audit trails to enhance the reliability of data integration flows.

  • Implement security controls to safeguard sensitive data, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws (e.g., PCI, GDPR, CCPA).

  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to implement safeguards and maintain data breach prevention protocols.

Project Management and Risk Mitigation

  • Oversee data integration projects from planning through execution, ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are consistently met.

  • Manage the lifecycle of data integration initiatives, including migration, modernization, and optimization projects.

  • Establish KPIs to track progress and report to leadership, ensuring clear visibility into project outcomes.

  • Identify potential data risks (e.g., data loss, system failures, inaccuracies) and develop proactive mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure disaster recovery plans are in place for critical integrated data assets to maintain business continuity.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Drive communication and collaboration across departments to enhance data transparency and accessibility.

  • Collaborate with data science and business intelligence teams to leverage integrated data for advanced analytics and reporting initiatives.

Physical Requirements:

  • In-Office Environment: Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions

    • Must be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings 

  • Office Conditions: Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels

  • Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches.  Must be able to occasionally move or lift office items up to 25 pounds

  • Hearing Requirements: Hearing must be sufficient or correctable to ensure clear understanding of spoken information, including participating in virtual meetings and phone calls. Use of hearing aids or other assistive devices is acceptable if needed.

  • Reading and Writing Proficiency: Ability to read and write in English is essential for processing documents, drafting reports, and following up on necessary actions. Proficiency in written communication is required to handle job-related tasks effectively.

  • Vision Requirements: Vision must be adequate or correctable to perform essential job duties, such as reading documents on a computer screen and using other visual tools. Use of corrective lenses or other measures to meet visual requirements is expected if needed.

  • Technology Proficiency: Must be proficient in operating a computer and other office productivity tools such as printers, scanners, and collaboration software. 

  • Effective Communication: Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders via email, video conferencing, and other in office communication tools.
