Solution Architect - Data Management

Job Summary
At Eaton, we are modernizing the way we use information and data applications to accelerate our digital transformation. As an Integrations & Data Management Solution Architect, you will partner with IT value streams and business partners to build data solutions across the enterprise to maximize business outcomes for Electrical Americas & GEIS business divisions and the Global Marketing function. This role involves applying data and system architecture best practices to create secure, scalable, cost-effective, performance-efficient, reusable, and resilient solutions while adhering to Eatons security policies and standards. You will engage in business and technical discussions, present your architectures to various stakeholders, and incorporate their feedback to support Eatons data mesh strategy. Working within the Chief Data Office, you will support the modernization strategy, roadmap, and implementation of data and application integration technology with a cloud-first approach when necessary.  You will oversee the end-to-end data management journey to ensure effective data product delivery and allocate design and development work to full-stack Data Engineers, offering a unique opportunity for solutioning and building data engineering capabilities at Eaton    
    
Job Responsibilities
• Work closely with enterprise architects, system architects, and product owners to drive synergies and define, implement, and support Eatons data mesh strategy. Ensure data products are designed for scalability, supportability, and reusability.
• Lead the design and development of data products and solutions that meet business needs and align with the overall data strategy. Create complex enterprise datasets that adhere to enterprise technology and data protection standards.
• Deliver strategic infrastructure and data pipelines for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading. Document solutions with architecture diagrams, dataflows, BPMN, code comments, data lineage, entity relationship diagrams, and technical and business metadata.
• Design, engineer, and orchestrate scalable, supportable, and reusable datasets. Manage non-functional requirements, technical specifications, and compliance
• Assess technical capabilities across Value Streams to facilitate the selection and alignment of technical solutions following enterprise guardrails. Execute proof of concepts (POCs) where applicable.
• Oversee enterprise solutions for a wide range of data technology patterns and platforms. Collaborate with senior business stakeholders, functional analysts, and data scientists to deliver robust data solutions aligned with quality measures (availability, completeness, accuracy, etc.).
• Support continuous integration and continuous delivery, maintaining architectural runways for a series of products within a Value Chain. Implement data governance frameworks and tools to ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance.
• Develop and support advanced data solutions using machine learning frameworks and tools. Leverage advanced data visualization tools like Power BI to enhance data insights. Manage data sourcing and consumption integration patterns from Eatons data platform, Snowflake, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility.

Qualifications:

Basic (required) Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited intuition
• Minimum ten (10) years of data and software engineering experience
• Minimum two (2) years experience working with data platforms
• No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of one of the locations listed on the job description
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience working with snowflake
• Prior experience working closely with a Marketing and Sales functions
• Familiar with leading cloud platform such as Amazon Azure and Google Cloud
• Experience with enterprise applications data models such as SAP, Salesforce or Oracle 

Position Criteria:
• Extensive experience utilizing best practices in software and data engineering.
• Advanced experience in creating interactive analytics solutions using technologies like Power BI, Grafana, R, and Python. Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau or QlikView.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, including cloud-based data storage and processing technologies.
• Expertise in dimensional (Star, Snowflake, Data Vault) and transactional (3rd normal form) data modeling using OLTP, OLAP, NoSQL, and Big Data technologies. Familiarity with data frameworks and storage platforms like Cloudera, Databricks, Dataiku, Snowflake, Palantir, dbt, Coalesce, and data mesh.
• Experience developing and supporting data and AI/ML pipelines, including code, orchestration, quality, and observability. Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and tools.
 Expert-level programming ability in multiple data manipulation languages (Python, Scala, SQL, PL-SQL). Intermediate ability to interact with batch (ETL/ELT), on-demand (API, SQL), and streaming (messaging, queues) data integration methodologies. Proficiency in API management platforms such as MuleSoft or Postman.
• Intermediate experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD principles and tools. Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Informatica IDMC, Confluent Kafka, and/or Apigee.
• Experience with data governance frameworks and tools to ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance. Solid understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as encryption, hashing, certificates, PKIs, Threat Modeling, secure coding, and OWASP.
