About the team and the role:

eBay, Inc. seeks Applied Researcher 1 in San Jose, CA

What you will accomplish:

Develop data pipelines to construct Knowledge Graphs (KG). Leverage advanced deep learning algorithms to enhance the annotation and relational structure of Knowledge Graphs. Build and support applications to enhance search retrieval, recommendation, relevance and ranking. Research and explore the latest NLP technologies and build product prototypes. Work with product manager, data scientists, engineers, and cross-functional teams to produce end-to-end production-ready solutions. Partial telecommuting permitted from a commutable distance

What you will bring:

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, or a closely related field plus 18 months of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1.    Large Language Model including finetuning and pretraining 
2.    Chaining Techniques and Retrieval-Augmented Generation 
3.    Knowledge Graph modeling, construction and applications 
4.    Leveraging high-performance computing resources, including GPU utilization with platforms like NVIDIA CUDA 
5.    Cloud-based Machine Learning Platform 
6.    Advanced Data Engineering and Pipeline Development: e.g. Apache Airflow 
7.    Distributed Data Processing language: Spark 
8.    Machine Learning Algorithms and Frameworks: e.g. Pytorch, Tensorflow 
9.    Transformer Architecture, including models like GPT, BERT, and T5 

Salary: $148,699.00-205,700.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
