The Senior Director of Customer Analytics will be responsible for setting the vision and strategy to create a 360 view of our customers to enable a personalized experience for both buyers and sellers and drive growth to our business. This role will empower a team of top analysts and data scientists with tools and training to uncover and drive proactive insights to identify growth opportunities for our customers and sellers, essentially influencing the strategic direction of our business. To be successful in this role, the leader will build cross stakeholder partnerships and buy-in and collaborate to integrate into their workplans to accelerate their objectives. In addition, this leader will partner closely with the data engineering and tech teams to deploy and make available these insights and customer solutions at an enterprise level across multiple departments to empower our associates and integrated into our systems to drive a personalized and frictionless customer experience. This leader will bring strong technical, analytical, and strategic strengths with a deep background in statistics, mathematics, and/or engineering. We are looking for an extremely customer-focused executive who can contribute and create breakthrough, best-in-class analytical solutions to help solve complex problems and drive key business decisions. Analytics at eBay is a multidisciplinary craft and it is foundational; it is a strategic arm that heavily influences critical decisions made by eBay leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Build the vision, strategy and roadmap to deliver a customer 360 platform including segmentations, models and key customer metrics.
- Partner with stakeholders to continuously gain buy-in including marketing, product, IT, customer support, international markets
- Continuously develop and implement use-cases, show value working closely with IT teams to enable democratization enterprise wide
- Partner very closely with customer research to provide a full and rounded view of our customers, what they do and why
- Provide to leadership a regular “customer pulse” identifying key customer insights and trends ultimately leading to opportunities for growth
- Provide a new lens and integrate C360 to understand drivers of overall sales performance and across all regions and categories
- Ultimately create a new customer driven language in our business integrated into existing key weekly, monthly and other reports ebay use on a regular basis
- Provide support and training to help the business understand and drive usage and adoption of customer 360, scale to the entire business
Job Requirements:
- Proven analytics and insights leader that has built impactful analytical capabilities within a large global company
- 15+ years of experience analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets
- Strong technical and quantitative background with Masters degree, MBA degrees preferred
- Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders in highly-matrixed environment
- Highly analytical, strategic, and detail-oriented, with a commitment to excellence and a passion for understanding the business implications of analysis
- Ability to influence and drive execution across organizational lines, superior communication skills, verbal written and presentation skills
- Experience with data and analytical tools including R and Python
- Excellent management, recruiting, coaching, team-building, and organizational skills
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.
$184,000 - $312,400Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
