We are looking to hire a Senior Manager, Financial Services Insights, to lead the Global Financial Services Insights Team! Offering relevant and compelling financial services propositions to our buyers and sellers is core to eBay’s purpose, and this role plays an instrumental role in uncovering insights that fuel innovation in products, services, features, etc. We partner closely within Financial Services across the innovation and GTM lifecycle, including target and whitespace identification, value prop development and evaluation, naming and comms evaluation, as well as post-launch feedback and KPI monitoring.
This role will report to the Director of Consumer Insights, Marketing & Financial Services.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow a dedicated Financial Services insights team (currently 2 people), including talent acquisition and training, while also leading your own high-priority projects.
- Be the voice of the consumer (Buyer, Seller, prospects) in all business forums, bringing forth an evidence-based POV.
- Be a thought partner to global cross-functional counterparts across GCI, Product, Strategy, Marketing, BU, Markets.
- Lead more sophisticated insights studies to guide strategic direction: conjoint, maxdiff, pricing etc, as well as agile qualitative and quantitative studies.
- Ensure delivery of high quality, high impact insight recommendations to help inform, shape, fine tune our innovation pipeline.
- Communicate insights findings to the leadership, with a focus on simple and compelling storytelling that inspires actions, both inside and outside of Financial Services.
- Partner with Analytics in conducting co-authored analyses to deepen our understanding of the customer and unearth growth opportunities.
- Build turnkey approaches for soliciting consumer feedback that can be leveraged by business partners.
- Consult on internal metric goal setting as well as input into overall Financial Services scorecard.
- Continuous improvement mentality: look for ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness within GCI and Financial Services.
- Work closely with the Financial Services Insights Director on strategic projects.
- Build strong relationships and influence throughout the Growth organization.
Required Experience and Skills:
- 10-12+ years of related work experience in a Consumer Insights role, with a passion for building consumer-obsessed organizations.
- 5+ years working on insights for Financial Services, payments etc. (ie cobrand cards, platform benefits and features, new programs etc).
- 5+ years in people development. Someone who loves developing and coaching others to help them realize their full potential.
- Deep expertise and skilled at crafting research studies across the spectrum, from qualitative to concept testing, conjoint, maxdiff, pricing, portfolio studies etc.
- Proven success in translating research into actionable strategies and measurable business outcomes.
- Excellent communicator, with experience presenting to Senior level business partners.
- Expertise in influencing key partners across a highly matrixed, global organization.
- Positive can-do, flexible attitude, ready to jump in and execute research alongside the team in a hurry, and resilient and adaptable in the face of changing plans or timelines.
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to form strong cross-functional relationships at all levels.
- Experience in connecting the dots from disparate data to bring clear, insightful syntheses that drive business growth.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Market Research, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, or related field. Advanced Degree highly desirable.
The position is a full-time role within the Global Consumer Insights organization
Location is flexible for the right individual and would require quarterly+ travel to the San Francisco Bay area and/or other locations as needed
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.
$148,400 - $222,750Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
