The Manager of Product Education Content is key to the success of Entrata’s Education department and reports directly to the Director of Product Education. This position is primarily responsible for leading a team of technical writers. The Manager of Product Education Content is responsible for building out Entrata’s technical documentation strategy that educates users on our product offering as well.  A successful candidate is knowledgeable in adult learning methodologies for on-demand learning, is highly motivated, innovative and isn’t afraid of challenging the status quo with new ideas.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of high-quality technical documentation, including product overviews, specialized product documentation, and other training materials.    
  • Lead and mentor a team of talented technical writers, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence
  • Highly detail-oriented with an ability to review and edit content as a final owner
  • Interact with cross-functional teams, such as product management, Professional Services, and support, to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy and completeness. 
  • Define and manage goals and KPIs to measure the success and to drive transparency into business outcomes and progress related to the Knowledge Management strategy
  • Report on results of team efforts and make recommendations across department   
  • Strong project management and leadership skills with ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute, follow-up in a timely manner, anticipate problems and roadblocks, and meet target dates 
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and a positive, solution-oriented attitude able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively shift gears to meet changing business requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to create cross-departmental relationships, lead projects with diverse teams, and influence decision making with senior-level audiences
  • Aggregates, standardizes, and manages product documentation content
  • Ability to make decisions that positively impact multiple teams or business functions.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in technical writing.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Technical Communication, English, or a related field.    
  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing, with at least 2 years of experience managing a team of writers.    
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a team.    
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.   
  • High EQ and ability to connect with others easily 
  • Strong understanding of technical writing principles and best practices.    
  • Comfortable with a variety of tools, such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, HTML, CSS, InDesign, LMS, Zendesk to create, maintain and host content.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Technical Communication, English, or a related field.    
  • 5-6+ years of experience in technical writing
  • Familiarity with SaaS and agile development
  • Experience in the multi-family industry
