The Drive Demand pillar is growing in order to accelerate our ability to deliver a world-class marketing solution to our creators. THE TEAM
The Marketing Tools team operates in the Drive Demand pillar and builds Eventbrite’s powerful promotional tools to connect creators with their existing fans, reach new consumer audiences, and sell tickets to ensure every event becomes a resounding success. The team is responsible for the UI and backend that supports the creation and management of marketing tools. Features include, but are not limited to, email campaigns, share on social suite, paid social ads, mailchimp integration, and reminder emails. By joining us you can enable the team to bring marketing tools to the next level, while collaborating with other engineers in multiple product teams across the pillar.
Our engineering teams own their services and systems end to end from requirements gathering to testing to deployment to maintenance. Team members follow an on-call rotation to ensure any issues are mitigated immediately and root causes are rectified.
THE ROLE
As a Backend Software Engineer II, you will extend the underlying framework and APIs for the marketing tools ecosystem and contribute to building beautiful, responsive, delightful and intuitive user interfaces that people who create email campaigns and promotional tools are excited to use. You will collaborate with product, design, and front-end engineers to formulate and implement solutions to various needs and requirements. You will solve challenging technical problems and own your impactful features across the full stack, while guiding junior engineers and influencing engineering leaders.
This role will be instrumental in making the Eventbrite experience a great one for our event creators and customers. THE TECH STACK
The Marketing Tools team uses Node.js, Typescript, Python, and we make extensive use of AWS including Lambda, S3, and DynamoDB. On the frontend, we use React and Typescript for rapid, iterative development.
THE SKILLSET
- A result driven self starter with great communication and collaboration skills who enjoys learning and helping their teammates grow
- 3 years experience building customer-facing software applications
- Strong experience with high-level languages, specifically Python
- Practical experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript. Modern frontend frameworks like React
- Unit-testing know-how required, experience with TDD or BDD is an added bonus
- You have experience designing and developing Web APIs
- Experience with AWS or Google Cloud Services
- Experience with MySQL, Aurora, or other RDBMS (NoSQL is a plus)
- You care about making sure your code is maintainable and well tested
- You work with teams that are continuously delivering and automating processes, you are excited about working in a world class SDLC environment
BONUS POINTS FOR
- A/B Testing knowledge and/or experience
- Active Eventbrite user with a passion for live events
- Experience with DynamoDB or Snowflake
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as AWS CDK or Terraform

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
