We’re seeking a Senior Staff Front-End Engineer to lead the charge in optimizing the speed and scalability of our website, enhancing front-end frameworks, and shaping the future of how Faire builds performant, maintainable, and cutting-edge web applications. This role is critical to ensuring Faire delivers lightning-fast, seamless experiences for our customers.

- Drive Web Performance Optimization: Youll take ownership of front-end performance, ensuring Faire’s website meets and exceeds industry benchmarks for speed and responsiveness.
- Shape Framework Development: Build and enhance reusable front-end frameworks and tools to accelerate development and improve maintainability across teams.
- Leverage Cutting-Edge Technologies: Work extensively with Next.js, React, and modern web development practices to create robust, scalable, and performant solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, and other Engineers to deliver impactful results across the business.
- Be a Technical Leader: Provide mentorship, set technical direction, and define best practices for front-end engineering at Faire.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of professional experience in front-end engineering, with a deep understanding of React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of Next.js.
- Proven experience optimizing large-scale web applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Hands-on experience with performance tools and techniques (e.g., Lighthouse, Webpack, RUM, profiling tools).
- Expertise in developing reusable UI frameworks, libraries, and tools.
- Familiarity with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand) and modern CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS).
- Strong understanding of web fundamentals: HTTP, browser rendering pipelines, and web performance metrics.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others in a closely collaborative team environment
Salary range:
San Francisco: the pay range for this role is $253,000 - $316,000 per year.
This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule - Faire employees will be expected to go into the office 2 days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, effective the week of January 13, 2025. Additionally, in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year.
