FICO (NYSE: FICO) is a leading global analytics software company, helping businesses in 100+ countries make better decisions. Join our world-class team today and fulfill your career potential!
AI is a fast-moving industry with huge potential for scale, and yet there is also a lot of hype. This role is responsible for conducting market analysis and technical research on market needs and emerging innovations to cut through the noise, and then driving the organization to capitalize on these opportunities. This will also involve playing a lead role in guiding the naming and packaging of our offerings to set up the organization (and our software partners) for success with elegantly written marketing content and collateral that supports these new offerings.
We’re looking for smart and motivated people who have a passion to be part of this red-hot decision intelligence space and comfort with technology and complex topics. Both FICO’s business and AI are complex and technical problem domains and so this means there will be a lot to get up to speed on, but we have experts on the team who will mentor you and serve as subject matter experts to guide you in your learning and professional development as you develop technical proficiency and eventually grow to achieve excellence.
You must have a desire to strive in an environment of independently driven, constant learning and have the intellectual honestly and confidence to understand the difference between when you “know” and when you “think you know” something. You will also need a keen intuition on how to make complex things simple without losing the essence that makes it all work. - Hiring Manager
The Opportunity
Perform technical market research involving a variety of research methods (surveys, SME interviews, focus groups, industry analyst briefings, competitive research, reading academic journal papers, etc.) and summarize the results into high-impact customer and sales facing content.
Lead the naming and branding process we use to align the customer facing names of new, complex and esoteric software and AI offerings that fit into our multi-layered capability organization system. Over time, you’ll develop into owning and modernizing the organization system in it’s next generation.
Working with our partner organization to scale our market insights and naming to set up our partners for success and create excitement for new partner offerings that fill the areas of market need and new trends we identify.
Writing! Logophiles wanted. Much of what we do requires some intellectual horsepower, and the patience and persistence needed to understand esoteric topics, build a working knowledge of it, and then write about it in a way that is easily understood by a larger audience and quickly communicates to the reader on why they should care.
Ensures that content you create is fully “launched” both inside and outside FICO to maximize its impact. This requires excellent communication (written, verbal and visual), the ability to provide informal or formal training, evangelization, and diligent follow-up with stakeholders to ensure the organization is aware of and actively consumes these materials in their campaigns and sales processes.
Systems thinking and creativity. We work in a complex problem space that will require you to understand the people, process and technology at FICO and how it all fits together. It will also require you to invent new ideas and new approaches to “get things done” within the FICO culture, as well as strong project management to see things through to completion.
A desire to learn from our more senior marketers and technical experts. We have smart folks who are happy to help get you unstuck, to serve as subject matter experts, a sounding board, and mentor and coach you on your journey.
